Just pre-ordered it. The total I saved was $8.85. I wish there was a store pick up option to save that extra $3.99 but that would already be asking too much.

Well that beats the Amazon pre-order price. In for 1 and cancelling Amazon's. Thanks for the heads up.

Good to know. I'll keep my eyes peeled for that.

I'm still leaving the amazon order in case this BB one was an error.

Thanks. I was leery of all the double-dipping that might be involved in these sets, but this one has three films I don't own, and the price is right.

When ordering this I saw the Best Buy now sells the Warner Archive blu rays such as Father of the Bride. Only available for shipping and so far not super good prices, $17.99 which is OK, but is nice to know they are available at more internet shops. Of course when Wolfman Legacy is $9.99 during Black Friday week or month I will be saying why did I preorder it?

I have the dvd set, but as this adds A&C & is blu it's tempting. The sales tax sucks, though. I will keep it in mind; as I could sell my Wolfman Legacy DVD box & my A&C DVD box that includes meets Frankenstein.

Is the entire Legacy series coming out on Blu? The Uni Monsters blu box is very well done, especially Dracula.

you must referring to Browning's version (ugh). Melford's superior version (imho) had a horrible transfer. Some parts were great, but an entire reel looks like 2nd generation VHS copy. I am a huge fan of Melford's version. Can hardly stay awake watching Browning's (even with Lugosi).

?

I collect Lugosi which is the only reason I care about the A&C if that's what you're referring to. If not, I'm totally confused.

He's referring to the Dracula movies. http://www.cinemagraphe.com/dracula-...nd-english.php

Also, thanks for the post bacigalup, wouldn't mind getting the rest of these as they come out, at this price.

Good tip. I thought they quit counting gift cards toward free shipping totals so I never would have considered it.

Thanks. I prefer the Spanish also EXCEPT for Lugosi. I thought the transfers were decent on the UK Monsters blu-ray box. All previous Dracula transfers I have seen did have issues.

It says "store search unavailable" on my screen and says to call the # if it continues, so I'm gonna wait until tomorrow to switch.

I placed an order, but I'm really hoping the Frankenstein set sees a similar drop before release date.

All the dvd sets are very good. Dracula (original film) is the worst, but until the br transfer it was the best version out there. I own the entire series on DVD; + the UK Universal Monsters box.

I'm interested in hearing feedback on these sets...going to try and hold out for a comprehensive set without the duplication.

Possible, but not likely based on what Universal did when they released the last comprehensive DVD set (talking about duplication). It is just easier to combine all the individual monster sets in a box then to create completely new packaging.

Yeah... don't hold your breath waiting for that elusive set. The "Classic Monsters" DVD set simply collects the individual "Legacy Collection" sets and puts them in a outer box. There's *lots* of duplication:

House of Frankenstein (1944)
House of Dracula (1945)
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
All three of those are in the Dracula, Frankenstein, and Wolf Man sets

Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943) is in the Frankenstein and Wolf Man sets

I expect the exact same thing will be done with the Blu-ray releases. Since I've already purchased the original Universal Monsters set on BD I'll likely just cherry pick these for the sequels I'd like to have on Blu-ray. With the Wolf Man set there are only 2 films that don't appear on other sets, WereWolf of London (1935) and She-Wolf of London (1946), neither of which are truly "essential" with She-Wolf... not even a true horror film. Early word is neither of those two got a full HD restoration making this set mostly a waste if you already own the newer Wolf Man DVD Legacy set and any of the prior Blu-ray releases as this uses the same masters.

I've got all the legacy dvd sets & the UK blu Classic Monsters like yourself; I'm also likely going to stop there.

I've got the backbone of a jellyfish! Someone posted images from the "Wolf Man" Legacy set so I placed an order with Best Buy...

*If* they're all remastered in HD I'm up for The Invisible Man, and The Mummy (especially if Abbott and Costello meet the Mummy is anamorphic WS) sets as they have the least (as in none) amount of film duplications. And... *IF* they *finally* get Revenge of the Creature and The Creature Walks Among Us in anamorphic WS I'll get that one.

I just can't decide about the others because of all the duplication which serves to make the sets cost more. To get Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Wolf Man sets means you get a average of 3 "new" films per set if you already own the Universal Monsters BR set. I understand just *why* they did this but it's hard to justify for those of us who like all the series.

I'll likely hold out for a "Complete Monsters Legacy Collection" set to save a few $$ and get it all at once. Of course if I didn't already own the DVD Legacy sets (both the original flippies and the new SS versions) and the BR box set I'd be all over these. Having purchased some of these films a half dozen times it's hard to go to the well again.
