I'm not even 4K yet but scooped up BlackKklansman for $11.99, which comes with the BD and Digital HD, so it all works out.

This is on sale at Amazon for that price I listed.

Great movie, but hardly any extras. I'm smelling re-release at some point, so I'm passing on it for now.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

Best Buy has 21 titles for $14.99 each. A fair number of those were $11.99 yesterday, but there are some newer deals, like Tomb Raider and The Predator.

Target's $10-and-up sale is mostly on the Blu-ray side of things, but there are a few Ultra HD Blu-ray titles scattered around in there.

Finally,
Amazon's 3 for $49.99 sale is back Amazon's 3 for $49.99 sale is back
, with some slight title updates.

Damn. If I didn't have an unopened Blu Ray set I'd jump on it.

I noticed that at least one reviewer on Amazon claimed that the 4K transfer was sub-par. I don't have the set myself, but it may be worth investigating further.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

The transfers get better the newer the movie. The Bourne Identity has the worst transfer of all. It's like really bad. I'd argue and say the blu ray transfer is the same or better. Not sure what happened with the remastering. The Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum are much better, transfers are abut the same. Not reference, but better than the blu's. The Bourne Legacy and Jason Bourne and have the best.

I've heard similar, but the longer the deal is up, the more I'm considering it. I think I still only have all the films on HD-DVD! At least this way I'll have Blu-ray as well.

You know, I'm in the same boat as you. Still have those HD-DVDs.

Best Buy has a handful of 4k movies 2 for 20. I picked up Die Hard, The Revenant, Life of Pi and Prometheus. 10 bucks apiece was about right for these titles.

No problem! The only difficulty I encountered was having to separate the purchases into pairs. I tried to buy all four in one order but the prices wouldn't adjust like they should.

SOP for BBY BOGO's. They;ve always allowed only a single Freebie per online order. Not a problem if you can do a specific set as a store pickup or if your RZ Elite to get FS or even at times of the years with FS, but other times it can be a problem.

Been waiting for Life of Pi to hit $10. Unfortunately, not much interest in the rest. Closest would be Die Hard(which I've bought on DVD & BVD). How's the transfer on that one? Worth the $10?

Die Hard appears to be a good transfer

I was thinking about grabbing that with Predator, but then talked myself out of it since I don't have a 4K TV yet

I would like this but I'm already on my third version of Die Hard and Predator was just so so.

If you don't have a 4K TV yet, there is no point in buying it, especially if you already own Die Hard on BD, since the set comes with a BD.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

The B2G1 sale at Target is a good opportunity to pick up some titles that I haven't seen on sale (on the cheap) before. I picked up "Saving Private Ryan", "Bridge On the River Kwai" and "Evil Dead 2" for $41. Under $14 each seems like a good price for these titles, especially the first two.

Catalog titles will all eventually fall under $10. I'm in no rush. Almost all of my 4K purchases last year were between Black Friday and Christmas. 20-ish titles, some of which had been on my to-buy list for probably a year or more, and none of them cost more than $10.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

Amazon has a 3/$39.99 (or, obviously, $13.33 each) sale going now:
Amazon Amazon

There are some new additions compared to previous sales.
