Looks like it’s sold out for the moment. I got in on the deal for local pickup at Wal-Mart. I’m fine with that.

Amazon is starting to match Best Buy's Black Friday UHD pricing. Incredible Hulk for $7.99 and Blade for $9.99.

I picked up Shawshank and Willy Wonka - don't have either of those in 4K and couldn't pass them up at $10 each.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

I wasn't going to get Super 8 on 4K, but it was $7.99 and I couldn't resist. I also picked up Willy Wonka, Shawshank, Fifth Element, Batman The Long Halloween 1 and 2, Snatch, Gattaca, and A Quiet Place Part 2. I was debating getting Ghostbusters on 4k, but it's apparently not much of a video quality upgrade from the Blu-ray. I passed on it.

There are rumors of a new Ghostbusters 1& 2 release next year, with 100G discs and Dolby Vision.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

Stopped by (2) Best Buy B&Ms on my way home from work today.

Picked almost everything on my list from the sale sans Elysium (2013), which I'll probably order since both stores I went to showed it being in-stock but not on the shelves.

4K

Chaos Walking (2021)
Gattaca (1997)
Godzilla (2014)
Godzilla Vs. Kong (2021)
The Green Knight (2021)
Last Action Hero (1993)
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins (2021)

BD

Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (2021)

Looks like Amazon just dropped a lot of titles to the $9.99 range.

Keep in mind, most of these Amazon deals are price matches of Best Buy. I personally prefer to order from the one making the deals rather than the one copying them.

If the price is the same, I'd go with the one that'll ship faster. For example, Knives Out 4k is $9.99 at both Amazon and Best Buy. Amazon and deliver it to my house tomorrow but Best Buy will take one week, unless you pay lots more for expedited shipping.

I rarely care about shipping speed, I have enough other stuff to watch in the meantime.

I believe the point here is Amazon wouldn't have them on sale unless Best Buy did, so it's good to support the company that originated the sale rather than the one that mimicked it. Once Best Buy and other retailers are out of business the only things Amazon will ever have discounted around BF are Kindles and Fire TV devices.

Likewise. In fact, I ordered Green Knight and Shawshank yesterday on Amazon and they arrived today along with Mulholland Drive. Didn't give BB a second thought.

Counterpoint -- I made 3 orders early Monday morning b/w 1-2 am ET (about 20 items total), One arrived today, 2 will arrive tomorrow with normal free shipping and I'll end up with close to $15 in RZ points..
Amazon wasn't at consideration since almost none of them were on sale at that time.

Not a one size fits all and both work for some better than others, but I get a lot more mileage out of my Free BBY RZ status than my $120 Prime. I'm grandfathered into the old Prime Format with 4 Family with independent shipping/CC rights or I might
consider letting it go completely (I'm the Prime Owner/Primary so i get the other perks though I almost never use any of it except shipping). I really wish they'd do something like a Prime Classic/Basic with only Shipping perks for 50-75/year and I'd be a lot happier with Amazon.

I would throw BBY a bone. As I want as many [email protected] retailers to keep selling physical media as long as possible.
But my Best Buy account has been screwed up for about a month. It lets me order but cancels the order soon after. And my CC, Paypal, and credit score are all great.
I tried almost everything from talking to CS to trying to check out as a guest for store pick-up., nothing worked.
So I ended up buying 15+ 4k and blu-rays movies from Amazon. Still, I'll drop by BB when I'm back in Oregon ( no sale tax) next week, but did not want to chance missing out on any of the movies I wanted and who knows what they will have left in stock.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

Seems like the consensus is against my post. What's the point of you all posting if another company matches prices? I don't have time tracking down who originates a sale price. If 4 places have the same price, I'll go with getting it quickest.

Or is everyone more anti-Amazon, regardless.
