Highly doubt it from past experience. More than likely they will tell you to return the $20.99 ordered one and reorder at $16.99. I had a birthday gift like that once and that's what they told me...except the birthday was a couple of days away. So...I held onto the item and just ate the difference.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

I will admit there have been more UHD deals than I expected this early in the format's history. I guess the studios learned lessons from their exorbitant 3-D pricing strategy.

Yep, and it's apparently ongoing...

Kick Ass 4k Pre-order (10/03) - $12.29

https://www.amazon.com/Kick-Ass-4K-U...dp/B07477Z59S/

Ex-Machina 4k - $12.25
https://www.amazon.com/Ex-Machina-4K...dp/B06XXCZLRD/

Tempted on Kick Ass, but I was even thinking of selling my blu-ray, so probably a pass. And Ex-Machina, watched it on digital that's enough for me. But supposedly it's a really solid UHD.

If it were the studios, I'd imagine there'd be lower MSRPs or more of these sorts of sales outside of Amazon.

Yeah, I'd get Ex-Machina for simply eye candy and demonstration of how a 4K display can really shine. Very tempting on both of these titles. And like Adam said, this is much more reasonable and 4K might actually be a success if these prices are somewhat common for those who would collect more than just a few 4K titles.

Deadpool is $13.77.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...KIKX0DER&psc=1

I already have the regular Blu-ray, not sure if this is worth upgrading.

Everybody has their own opinion with 4k's...but I found Deadpool one of the best 4k's I've upgraded so far. The ATMOS, the picture...it's just bad ass, seriously. Some of my upgrades have been iffy (X-Men I'm looking at you), I can say without a shadow of a doubt, Deadpool is not one of them.

Keep in mind, some of those titles are Lionsgate, and they always have the best catalog pricing. Hopefully this is a trend though.

Amazons price is $18.70, I see the $13.77 from another seller on Amazon.

Yeah, Deal is dead as far as Amazon is concerned. For what it's worth though...I got mine for $15 used off Ebay and then used my steelbook, added a tab and then put in the 4k and took out the dvd. So you should really be paying no more than $15 for it regardless whether it's Amazon, Ebay or other avenue to get this one.

I concur. The scene in which Deadpool is sitting on the bridge features a sky so bright and crisp that it's nearly blinding.

You can get it down to $18 for two movies if you select shipping and then change it to in-stock pickup.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

Next week, Target has a Cartwheel discount for 20% off movies. That applies to Ultra HD Blu-ray as well, which brings the newly-released Baby Driver down to ~$23. Not bad!

Nice. I'm still sitting on two $10 off perks as well that expire in a couple weeks so hopefully I can find something to burn it on.

I might end up getting Wonder Woman sooner than I thought, $23.99 is an okay price.

3 UHD BDs for $49.99 at Amazon (or $16.67 a pop). Now through November 30th. It's only really a deal with certain titles, since a bunch of 'em are already under $16.67.

Nothing I need I don't already own so they would be BR or HD DVD upgrades. I'd love to see how the MUMMY movies look but I haven't watched them in at least 10 years so I'm torn about upgrading. LUCY, and RED(S) are less than $16.67 so don't buy those under this sale.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

I picked up 6 movies with the $49.99 sale: John Wick 2, Argo, Prometheus, King Kong, Pacific Rim, and Unforgiven. I contemplated Ghost in the Shell, but I think I'll get the 3D version instead someday.

More crazy deals:

Walmart has the Purge trilogy for $25.61 (eight bucks and change a movie).

The Bridge on the River Kwai is down to $14.72 on Amazon, a week after release.
