Re: B&N 40% off blu ray sale

While BN carries the Warner Archive blu ray titles a spot check of Gypsy, Americanization of Emily, and 42nd St. showed they were not included in the 40% off sale online. All those checked were priced at $21.99. There is no option to check in store.
I don't know if you will get the sale price trying to ship to store. Anyone try with a Warner Archive title?

They don't even let you ship it to store. You have to do a ship to home order. I'm going to try on Thursday and see if I can stack on a coupon with 40% sale price.

Another cheap title to your list:

Birdman of Alcatraz--$4.50 w/a 25% coupon.

Re: B&N 40% off blu ray sale

The Hammer Horror Collection is one of the best deals available.

This annual sale is a fairly important one for bargain catalog hunters. It's possible to get deep catalog titles at price levels not possible the rest of the year.

When does this begin in store? I was there yesterday (12/15) and there was no sale...

There were just no signs. Wish I'd known. Passed on a few things that were too pricey that I would have otherwise gotten if I'd known they were on sale. Thanks for the heads-up!

Amelie Blu-ray is currently $4.99. Use it with any current coupon and you should get it for a lot less than what it typically goes for ($9+).

Re: B&N 40% off blu ray sale

Found the Doctor Who Christmas specials set today. It had a sticker date of 11/24 but I didn't see it during the BBC sale. Still, with 40%,10%, & 25% discounts, I bought it...
Used a $25 GC that I paid $20 for, so my out of pocket cost was $19.79

Got the Twin Peaks Blu set for $130 - $52 (40% off sale) - $8 (10% member) - $21 (30% coupon) = $49! Not bad!

Re: B&N 40% off blu ray sale

Does BN carry the the Criterion "Classic Hitchcock" box set (https://www.criterion.com/boxsets/11...ic-hitchcock)?

I searched their site but came up empty.

It worked when I did a ship to home order. I did it twice in the past few days with Murder my Sweet and Ladyhawke and it worked perfectly. It rang up as $13.19 and with 10% member off total was $11.87 before any percentage off coupons. So with coupon, total comes out to under $9.00 before tax.

I used the coupon seven times during the period and got deep discounts on stuff that seems to never go on sale. The VCI titles on the list went on sale before but I didn't have to pay shipping.

Stray Cat Rock $26.45
Prowler $9.44
The Postman also Rings Twice $8.09
Murder my Sweet $8.31
Ladyhawke $8.31
F/X $11.33
The Bird with the Crystal Plummage $7.55

I'm kinda hoping there isn't a second round of coupons since I'm not sure I can resist buying more, especially at these prices.

Re: B&N 40% off blu ray sale

Went into my local store this evening and picked up a bunch of stuff that I either missed out on during the Criterion Sale, or had my eye on for a while.

Bronson
Pale Flower: The Criterion Collection
What We Do In The Shadows
The Birds

Re: B&N 40% off blu ray sale

I fucked up and missed the Target sale for My Fair Lady 4k BD last week when it was $14.99.

I checked B&N tonight and it's 40% off there, which brings it to $23.99 plus my 25% off coupon on top of that brought it to $17.99. With tax and free shipping the total came to $19.61. I can live with that.

For those inclined, Little House On The Prairie seasons (1-6) are $14.99. Using coupons, you'll (probably) get these at the lowest they'll ever be.

Thank you for the info on Warner Archive films. I got Murder My Sweet which was the only Blu Ray Archive title that I wanted that I hadn't already owned.

I still have tons of 25% Store coupons to give out for anyone brave enough and late enough that they need them so PM your late requests

I think we are down to basically a single online code -
20% Off Online -- Re-usable
F8X7X8P expires 1/1/16
Thank you for the coupon codes and the reminder about the online 20 percent off code. I asked for 2 coupons you sent me seven and I used all seven. There was a book I wanted which was 38 percent off on line but list price in store. I thought I had missed out on the coupons for the book when the last two rounds were in store only.

I would say I am ready to be snowed in for the winter but with it being about 75 degrees in NY today winter seems far away. Happy Holidays to all.

Re: B&N 40% off blu ray sale

Thanks for the codes, Hari! My wife & I used almost about half of the 25% ones you sent (along with the 30% BN emailed).

Got My Fair Lady, War & Peace, & You Can't Take It With You BDs...and did ship-to-home orders for Wolf Hall, Hell On Wheels s.4, and Hammer Horror Collection.

Since the store was closing in less than an hour (no time to post the leftovers here), we spread some Christmas cheer around by giving them to unsuspecting (and very grateful!) customers doing last-minute shopping (mostly for their or someone else's kids). The look of surprise on their faces was great, so thanks for making several people's day.

It probably helped BN, too, since we noticed one person who was having a hard time picking something having a smoother time with the 25% off. Probably got BN a couple more sales...or even some bigger sales.

Win-win for everyone!

Merry Christmas!

And Merry Christmas to Laser, too...hope he is doing well.
