The Beatles # 1 Deluxe Blu ray set $35.69 @ B &N

Barnes and Noble has a 30% off one item coupon this weekend. The set is cheaper to buy online rather in store even if you are a B&N member. Its discounted 15% to $50.99 on line but selling for $59.99 in store. Coupon code is 30BFRIDAY. Price online after coupon but before tax is $35.69.

Barnes and Noble usually has a 40% off all blu rays sale in December. If this set is included in that sale and you are a member the price could be $32.40 before tax with a 10% membership discount. And if they have a coupon during the sale it will be even cheaper. The only reason I question if this set will be included in the 40% off blu ray sale is that it includes a CD and it is not a movie or TV show. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Thx!

For those who care; The audio is quite compressed (peak compression, not lossy compression)

The cd is "DR8", the blu's are 96/24 "DR9".

"DR11" is considered the lowest acceptable # for high quality audio.

Yep, I was disappointed by the audio mastering. It's on the loud side for Hi-Rez audio. I thought we were going to get the same kind of audiophile mastering we got from the Beatles' Love DVD-Audio.

I haven't heard that one; but I've also heard from others that it is quite good.

As far as the core catalog, the best we've got (other than needle drops) is a 44/24 $300 USB key that is slightly volume compressed.

It would sure be nice to see the Beatles done right before my hearing goes from old age. The Stones & to a lesser degree The Who & The Kinks have done so; how about The Beatles joining in? Even McCartney has released 100% uncompressed hi res editions of his early solo catalog.

The description seems to say CD with blu-ray and not blu-ray with CD, so it's probably music only. maybe hariseldon will know for sure.

All the blu rays have videos with 96/24 audio (at least 3/4 are lip-synched MTV style videos). The "deluxe" has a 2nd br with more videos.

Re: The Beatles # 1 Deluxe Blu ray set $35.69 @ B &N

I ended up receiving an empty box. It was sealed so I don't think someone stole the contents unless someone stole it in the warehouse. Only thing in package was the receipt. I asked for a replacement which B&N said they would send. However they ended up crediting my account instead. I checked on their website and it is sold out. Oh well. It still available for in store pick up if the stores have stock but for $60 which is more than I want to pay. They didn't send me an e-mail about this. I checked the order on line and the total was changed to $0. I checked my credit card and I had a credit from B&N posted on Friday.

The Beatles aren't typically in the business of heavily discounting their releases. Do I think it is all that limited? Probably not.

Shame it required memberships, coupons, stacking, etc. If I could just go to B&N & order for $35 I probably would. But this is way too much trouble.

It's $40 on Jet.com and I can't figure out how some of their New customer discounts work, but it seems there 10 off 35 and 20% possible first order discounts. Seems most of their media is being sold through Deep Discount.

I miss the days when Amazon had a lightening deal for the complete Beatles remastered cd box set the year it was released for $100. I am pissed I missed out on the Black Friday deal I posted because they sent me an empty box and then didn't send a replacement. This set will not be purchased by me unless I can get a similar deal.

Stock changes frequently at Jet. They seem to pull items from sale when Deepdiscount runs out of an item in their inventory.

This set is not included in the 40 percent off sale though they have increased the discount online to 15 percent which it was when I started this thread. With current coupon BNGIFT25 price is $38.xx plus tax. Coupon good through today 12/15.

Thanks for the heads up.

Re: The Beatles # 1 Deluxe Blu ray set $35.69 @ B &N

Just a heads up, they canceled the Beatles set from my order this morning, but are still shipping me the rest which means I lose the Amex discount. I called them and tried to cancel the entire order but they won't let me, have to go through the return BS.

Not a good first experience - not sure if others have had good/bad with this company. The email says it was to be fulfilled by Deep Discount, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised (and it was mentioned up above). Burned again by DD.

That's not good and seems to contradict what is written on the e-mail I got when my order shipped. It says "When Jet or Jet's Trusted Retail Partners are out of stock on an item, the Jet Heads will find it elsewhere on the web and place a special order for you. Don't worry, you still pay the same price, and we never share your payment information with any other sites. We only share your address so they can ship you your item(s)."

Re: The Beatles # 1 Deluxe Blu ray set $35.69 @ B &N

The entire Beatles catalog will be available on streaming services including Amazon Prime starting at Midnight tonight.

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/23/ar...676470&ref=cta

It turns out that just 10 of the 13 Beatles albums are free with Prime . " With The Beatles" , "Beatles For Sale" , and "Yellow Submarine " are not included though if you purchase the CDs you get free auto rip or they can be purchased as digital downloads. Past Masters , Number 1's, the Red and Blue compilations, and the Beatles at the BBC are also not included with prime.

As of this writing there is no auto rip for the Stereo and Mono studio albums box sets

This is the email I received. I did not notice that part about the finding a replacement until now (and they didn't offer to find it elsewhere when I called). But it would have still messed up my coupon and amex-credit situation most likely.

An important update to your order

We’re really sorry about this – the below item(s) in your order xxxxxxxxxxxx cannot be fulfilled and will be canceled due to unexpected unavailability. We’re working hard to build an exceptional shopping experience, and we truly appreciate your patience during our early days.

You won’t be charged for the item(s) below, and we’d love to help you find a replacement if you would like. Just contact the Jet Heads at 1 (855) JET HEADS (538 4323) or email [email protected].
I also see that it is still showing in-stock on the Jet website right now.

They did send me $5 off coupon in a later email, but I'm not going to reorder from them.

My order came from Deep Discount. No different than if I had ordered directly from them. There was no mention of Jet anywhere on the package.

There will be. The sender name will be 'Deepdiscount Jet'. Take another look
