Saw their email earlier today. One reason I mentioned comparison shopping in that previous post was because I remembered buying a lot of these for 50% off, but couldn't remember (at that moment) where or when. Turns out it was this sale, last year! As such, there's nothing I need now, but nice to know it's an annual thing.

The last Hamilton Sale turned me on to the 12 Monkeys TV series. Other than a Mill Creek box (eeww!) there doesn't seem to be a USA release of Seasons 3 & 4. There is an Aussie release, I don't know if there are others. Any suggestion on where to get the Aussies cheap (I paid $1.00 for S1 & $6 for what turned out to be a reseal of S2), so I'd like to avoid spending a fortune; & the Mill Creek set chopped the # of discs by 25%, & is said to come in cardboard sleeves. And the lowest I've seen it is $25-$26 + tax.

Turns out all the blu's are being sold by DD on their site & various larger sites. Oddly, Amazon is selling the DVD, but not the blu. I ordered this one through Walmart. Last time I did a fulfilled by DD order, instead of sending me a Mill Creek box, they sent a $3.00 Big Lots wrestling film. I got a refund, but it was a pain as DD fought issuing the refund until Amazon stepped in. I really wish Amazon offered it through Prime, so I could have used an Amazon storage locker.

It was slightly cheaper buying from DD on Walmart than it was buying on DD's site; & HOPEFULLY if DD screws up the order as they all too often do, I'll get better support from Wallymart than I would get from DD (that's just a guess).

Full Moon Direct is having a sale which includes B1G1 on media. Better yet, it's really 'buy 2 or more and get 50%' off. And the free shipping threshold is $50, but that's based on the pre-discount total.
So I ordered three 16.95 titles (Cinderella, End of the World and Mansion of the Doomed) for $25.42 including shipping.

Does Full Moon have any 'decent' movies that include subtitles/SDH? (Seems like I wound up buying a few of their movies from the UK because they had subtitles, but to my knowledge Laserblast, one of my favorites, does not have such a release). --Peter

Finally looked closely at my shipping invoice from the Epic Pictures sale, where they had a bunch of titles half-price at $9.99, shipped via MVD. I bought ten, including some recommended by folks here. Not sure they intended the invoices to be so revealing, but there it is. And yes, I'm sure some of these were older titles, leftovers, maybe they don't really cost so little, I don't know what, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if other boutiques or distributors operate with similar margins here and there. Geez . . .

Shipping was free, at least on my end. And at the top of the price column, it says . . .

WHOLESALE
RETAIL

And the 'Retail' pricing matches Epic's $19.95 per disc, as per their site. So it seems their wholesale cost is 35 cents. Like I said, maybe it's excess stock or something. Epic's library isn't exactly top heavy with films of note.

Wouldn't surprise me if those are actual wholesale prices. Most of the content handled by MVD is stuff with minimal licensing fees.

MVD has an Arrow sale going on right now. At least 50% off at a glance; as high as 80% off.

I scooped up the Arrow Video series books. They're $4.99. The Cult of Arrow Video book is $14.99, so got that one, too. Not a bad package of reads there and my order shipped out this afternoon, as well.

I have ordered from them before, they have great prices and good communication but I have NEVER received an order from them in their “7-15 buisness day” time eta! I am still waiting for 2 of the “vault series” titles that were , I was told, shipped on 1/3! I was aware of the year end strike in the royal mail system, but they said their orders have been arriving on time to USA since new year, BUT even the tracking # they provided was not even viable when I called usps today after waiting 3 weeks now!.. still zilch!

Re: Thread for BF Cult, Genre and/or Non-Region A Blu-Rays

lots of other movies at great prices at Rarewaves. Got 4 Carry on films, and Eureka's Madame Dubarry, among some great BFI releases. Worked to be about $10.50 per movie (including S&H) which is the lowest I have ever seen for these.
That being said, even before the UK postal strike, shipping takes a LONG time. I always plan for 3 months (yes, months). That way I am always pleasantly surprised when it shows up early

? 3 mos. from rarewaves???- no offense but they have and just again re-iterated that their normal shipping time is “7-15 working days” to USA- they said pkgs. shipped on 1/2 had already been delivered here to date! mine… not- really weird as I have never waited that long for anything I have ordered across the pond including , UK, Germany, Australia. just my experience-

That is what I meant. These sale prices are not advertised as a special sale. Look for BFI films and you will see some nice deals.
