This came a long at a very opportune time!

I'd just read Mondo Digital's review of the New York Ripper UHD yesterday. It's a title I would normally not be interested in at all- save that the reviewer mentioned the film having a jazzy De Masi score, and that last years 3 disc BU release had the score as a bonus CD.
I've become a sucker for those. After hearing some samples cues on Youtube, I had to put this down on the "to get" list.

The code helped too! Oddly it came in under the $25 threshold after adding the coupon, but the order still qualified for free shipping.

A bunch of Arrow titles are on sale at Best Buy and (most?) price-matched at Amazon
Arrow sale titles as Best Buy
I see they have Basket Case for 18.99, is that the cheapest it has been? I generally get Arrow BDs from UK sales because they tend to be cheaper, unfortunately Arrow didn't release Basket Case over there.

Fantastic movie! Film Movement also did right by the Blu-ray transfer and special features.

I just got my Film Movement blu of Lang's Indian Epic. I'm looking forward to viewing what's supposed to be a significant upgrade from the MOC DVD set.

Got a steal on it also. Ebay is doing a $25 off coupon for long time users; so this came to under $18 (new) shipped& with tax.

Eureka is having a sale on Chinese action/Jackie Chan films - all are Region B titles, but I believe their prices still include shipping to the US:

re: Deals Thread for Cult, Genre and/or Non-Region A Blu-Rays

Amazon Germany is running a '4 for €21,44' on 195 BD titles at the time of this writing - the majority of them are Koch and Explosive Media releases (mostly Universal and Fox/MGM licensed titles and some Sony) with a few Studio Canal releases thrown in as well

Amazon Amazon
  • As is standard Amazon practice when there is a package deal like this, VAT does not get taken off each title, instead every set of 4 titles qualifying for the promotion will be priced at €21,44
  • Promotional discount applies for every set of 4 titles
  • Watch out as some are German titles only with German (other European) audiotracks and subtitles
  • Many of the Koch/Explosive Media releases are Region A/B (please perform your research)
  • Many titles do not have US releases - some examples: Brokedown Palace, Shining Through, Defiant Ones, Jet Pilot, Cromwell, Circus World, Honorary Consul, Cowboy Way, Tickle Me, Rare Breed
  • There are titles from Universal's licensing with Koch which Shout released in the USA for far more expensive prices
  • There are US OOP titles like No Way Out and Follow that Dream
  • There are 4 Shaw brothers titles for the martial arts purists (region B only)
  • The Third Man is region free and is the same excellent 4k restoration if anyone still does not have it.
  • 'Waterloo' says can't be delivered to the USA
  • Almost all the Fox western titles can be blind bought as you can forget their release happening here in the USA, not to mention future unavailability on international markets as well given the Disney takeover (several of the Fox licensed Koch titles have already gone OOP too)

I ordered a total of 38 titles to maximize shipping value - 20 from the above offer and 18 others I had in my cart. I chose AmazonGlobal Expedited Shipping and was charged €35,74 (at least €20 more than what it would have been on standard shipping before the shipping rate spike) Still distributing that shipping charge across 38 titles didn't make it seem too steep.

I've been waiting for this! I picked up The Gates of Hell, The Card Player, Sleepless, and Phantom of the Opera.

A slightly more downmarket selection for me, but it clears out most of my last ‘wants’ from the site:

ANGEL UNCHAINED
YOUNGBLOOD
RECORD CITY
BEAST WITH 1,000,000 EYES
BLIND RAGE

I am not versed enough to recommend anything here outside of maybe Parasyte which I watched for the OHMC and enjoyed.

Some pretty steep discounts there. A lot of Blus are discounted more heavily than their DVD counterparts. Wish there were more movies as I don't really get much out of the long-form series.

That said, of the movies they do have, GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES, NINJA SCROLL and GODZILLA 1984 are really good deals for solid movies.

VCI’s BF sale started a while ago but the selections were paltry. They’ve apparently upped the ante today:

THE BLACK FRIDAY SALE CONTINUES!
Now thru Christmas, we are discounting many items from 65% to 80% off the regular suggested retail price! We added more titles just today, bringing the total to over 250 selections, priced as low as $1.99! The Boss-man has gone absolutely nuts, so take advantage of him while you can! Some of the items are limited to stock on hand, so don't wait, and shop till you drop!

With Severin is there any good reason to buy right at launch for these? Limited/sellout risk? Curious as to opinions as I don't follow them very closely anymore and usually only participate in their Black Friday sales.
