Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Looks like Heaven's Gate is back in stock, I just ordered and it went through. BNTROPICAL worked like a charm. Thanks!

I think one's opinion of the film will greatly depend on how much you like Juliette Binoche. Despite Kristin Stewart's presence the movie has a distinctly European flavor often found in French film. It's an interesting film but a blind buy would depend on how much the $15 means to you.

Thanks, Phantom. Am a fan of both Binoche and Stewart. I think Stewart has great potential to be a good actress in meaningful films. Camp XRay was a good candidate. I will get Clouds based on this

I ordered early and got everything I wanted. So what if I only saved 20% instead of 25%?

Also, could one of the mods either merge these two B&N threads, or delete one?

Any idea why I'm getting an "items in your bag are not eligible" error with BNSPARKLER? I removed any pre-orders.

OK, I tried refreshing my login and it's saying BNSPARKLER is now expired.

I've never had any luck using coupon codes in past sales, how does everybody else make these work?

Barnes & Noble can suck it
I did get two orders in using code BNSPARKLER.
But was planning on doing two or more orders today using this code.
Looks like these codes are good for A day or two and not the advertise dates.

Yeah, the window closes quickly on these double stacking deals. I regretted not getting in on the 40% off all Blu-ray movies stacked with the 30% off $150 deal. I saw the deal for the Sparkler and 50% off criterion stacking last night, and went ahead an put my order in right away rather than risk missing out.

I missed out on the 40% + 30% off $150 deal all together.But I'm really cutting
down on my media spending down this year and saving or spending it on on other things for my kids or me.

You can mad at B&N (or me) if you like, but having something secret available and pulling it after 5 days for the 20% and 35 hrs for the 25% is hardly unprecedented with them or any other web retailer. Coupons, codes, and deals get shut down early all the time b/c they're either too popular or b/c they're functioning in a way maybe they werent supposed to.

You got two large orders in on something that may not ever have been expected to be released by B&N so you can feel lucky or cheated. You could be like 90% of the Criterion folks who don't belong to the 2-3 places that posted the coded and then you'd never know you were missing anything at all and not have any cheap Movies either, but happier.
I never knew until now this was A unadvertised coupon code until now.
I heard how they pulled the 20% code early. And should have put in one last ordered last night on the movies I had in my cart. But live and learn.

And come to think of it.25% off orders over $100,when Criterion movies are already 50% off is quite A great deal.Plus many use discounted [email protected] gift cards.

I was not planning on buying many CC movies this sale. But the sale price + the 25% off code was hard to pass up and I already bought way more than I planned on.

B&N does have the best Criterion Collection sales. But I still talk shit about them and many other merchants.
Hariseldon thanks for posting this code and many other deals.

Wanted to get carnival of souls, but since coupons are dead I'll just wait to the next sale. Any 20% off coupons on the horizon?

Re: Barnes and Noble Criterion 50% off

I'm about to head into battle. I shall attempt to get three titles with the 15% off coupons and then attempt to combine the $10 off of $50 coupon. If I get incredibly lucky, it will end up being three titles for $41.

Re: Barnes and Noble Criterion 50% off

Are any of the coupons that people are getting good online, or are they all take-your-chances-in-store coupons?

If the former, I'll take anything anyone has to offer. If the latter, I could probably use one or two (I only have two stores in my area and I don't like to push my luck).

I missed out on the big coupons waiting for Heaven's Gate to come back in stock (I kept missing it every time it did).

If you are a nonmember and needing 3 items on a single coupon then the $10 off $50 total purchase is great -- (19.99 x3) - $10 = 49.97 . A little cheaper and a lot easier if you don't want to try 3 separate coupons. You don't have enough posts to open your PM yet -- you may want to get to 10 posts then go to your Profile and "allow Private Message" in the setting -- I think in 24 hrs it will open which makes things a bit easier.

Otherwise you need to go to the setting and ALLOW Email otherwise there isn't a way to send information
Thanks for the info. I will try to set that up.

Re: Barnes and Noble Criterion 50% off

I don't know if the 15% coupons would stack with the $10 off of $50 coupon. The store that I visited was picked clean. I had a hard time finding two $20 titles that I wanted. I added Blue is the Warmest Color for $12.50 so that I could at least use the $10 coupon. It scanned with no problem whatsoever.

Re: Barnes and Noble Criterion 50% off

I'm confused. I'm a member and I had planned on buying 5-6 titles in store during this sale. At least one purchase would have been in store with member 10% discount plus 20% emailed member coupon. Others would have been in store and 15% coupons. But I received a $10 off 50 coupon, apparently instead of the usual 20% member coupon. So I have two questions: 1) Did I miss a 20% emailed coupon or were they not sent to members this time? and 2) Do the 15% coupons work on the Criterion sale in store?

Thanks. So for something higher priced like Shoah, assuming it will work, 15% plus member 10% in store is my best option?

Re: Barnes and Noble Criterion 50% off

The $10 off 50 coupon was scanned at the register and it applied fine with no need for any manual intervention. I don't expect any issue with the mailer coupons, either. If there's a kind of coupon on which you can stand your ground, its those :-). Will report back Tuesday evening when I pickup ATOZ. It's a thrill hunt, gotta say, these coupons !
