Comparatively though the Blu-ray sets were actually a great deal as the DVD's were outrageously overpriced at the time they came out (and really were still high even shortly before the Blu-ray's started coming out). I seem to remember most of them were around $100-$120 whereas most of the Blu-ray sets were easily found release week for like $60 and regularly priced they're like $75-$80. Not cheap but considering all the work that went into getting the series remastered I found the releases pretty reasonably priced. Obviously they've been on sale for lower than I paid but I feel the value for the sets is pretty fair.

Luckily, I got my Next Generation order in about 7:30 ET, before I went into work. I ordered Seasons 2-6, as I had already purchased a used set of S1 from Amazon late last year for $20 (which seemed like a steal at the time).

For about $10.26 per season, I can live with the Italian-language case inlays!

First Batman: The Complete TV Series blu-ray set and now these...looks like I'm going to have to keep a keen eye on Amazon.it!

Amazon.it has what appears to be a new version of the Pianist that's eligible. Any info about this release?

Every box set I see referenced on the site says it is in PAL format and all the words (and I suspect menus) are in Italian.

These work in US Blu-ray players without PAL speedup?

Are the menus in English?

I suggest reading through the earlier part of the thread.

Ordered STTNG Seasons 5, 6, & 7, From Here To Eternity, and Starman.

Nice deal, especially getting STTNG seasons for about $10 each.

I finally received my order the other day. Anyway, more importantly, I ordered The Driver and it turned out to be a region free version. The Twilight Time version has already sold out and the UK version of the Driver is region locked. Note this version is 91 minutes and not 89 minutes like the TT version.

Also picked up a region free disc of Wild at Heart and Clockers, which doesn't have a US release at the moment.

I have the Twlight Time release. What is the two minute difference?

In 2013, Walter Hill's cult thriller was released on a limited Blu-Ray set that is exclusively available on www.screenarchives.com. However, just as all previous US DVDs (we do not know whether or not the VHS releases were identical to the DVDs, however, it is very likely) the movie is slightly cut compared to the European releases. A longer dialog between the driver and the gambler is missing during the first half of the movie.

My Amazon Italy order with six seasons of Star Trek: TNG arrived in fine shape. The packaging is in Italian but the disc labels are in English, if people were wondering.

I missed out on this deal but I just bought this with the buy 2 get 1 free TV deal going on now. Do you know if Season 1 has the corrected discs that originally were recalled when first released?

I don't have any information about that one way or the other. Most of these foreign issues of discs intended for America tend to come later after the problems have been ironed out. I can't remember one example of international discs retaining problematic issues from the domestic versions.

Thanks Phantom. I'm going to have to wait a couple of weeks for my sets to come in but I'm excited about them and I got a great deal
