interestingly the one title I had problems getting the 40% off instore was 'Sleepaway Camp' - the system was reading it as a DVD - the manager did an override to correct it.

I looked at the little mermaid 3d and that's full price online. Always the one I am interested in isn't part of the sale.
Edit: The Wild Geese, The Medusa Touch (3% off) gggrrrrrrrrr and the new Godzilla 3D. I guess I am looking for the wrong blu-rays.

Wild Geese and The Medusa Touch certainly fall into the tiny distribution company release (Henstooth and Severin make Olive look like a Massive company). To get any deal on these you're likely going to have to get them to order for store pickup. There a slight possibility that they could arrange a ship to home From the store and see if the 40% applies, but I don't think without a manual override that would happen.
Little Mermaid 3D and Godzilla 3D much better chance for an instore pickup -- Godzilla should be in most stores, TLM surely would have to be ordered for store pickup.
Just not sure how far you are from a store to know if it's worthwhile.

Just curious, what is everybody looking to buy? I'm going to use my coupons on labels that barely get 50% off discounts like Cohen, Carlotta and Drafthouse. I want to get a few Kino Classics but a couple of films I want have suspect PQ (Mr. Majestyk and Topkapi).

Technically not true and impossible. The MSRP is set by the manufacturer...that's the M in MSRP and it's the same for all sellers. I think what you mean is "drop the price to everyone else's regular price". Which is also not true for a large number of titles.

I don't think they ever have a 50% off all BD, do they? Just like 50% Criterion and 50% off British.

My wife was nice enough to order a couple of Kino titles ship to store for me (Great Train Robbery & Private Life of Sherlock Holmes), so hopefully I will see them in a week.

Picked up Safe (Criterion) for $16.10 this morning. Had a great chat with the cashier who was happy to scan the coupon and even told me that this is what he does- since the employee discount doesn't allow stacking of coupons with his discount. He buys a membership and uses that with coupons to get the best deals.
He's an older fellow too, in his 50's or 60's. He even commented that these were the coupons "you can only use once, unlike the other other ones".
Such a breath of fresh air after dealing with the young cashier/manager at the other store who does everything he can to protect B&N's profit margin.

Got Batman TV LE for $97.xx tonight. Used the 30% off coupon, membership, and a $5 off $50 coupon. Helluva deal. I know I don't need the extra stuff the LE has, but the price was right...

Usually the system only allows for one coupon per item, so using more than one coupon tends to require addition items. Indeed, the only times I've seen it work are with a manual override - otherwise the computer just switches the discount from the first-scanned to second-scanned coupon.

Re: Barnes & Nobles 40% Off Bluray Sale (Dec. 2014)
I would like to pick up the Batman set, but I am going to wait for the eventual price drop. I may try and pick up the Vincent Price vol. 2 set($47.99 pre 25% coupon) and The Hobbit DoS 3D EE($33 pre 25% coupon). Neither are available at the store closest to me, but I should be going past one that does have both in stock this weekend.
Not really wanting to pay $25 for The Hobbit DoS, but The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey 3D EE has not come down in price since it's release. Luckily I picked that one up from GoHastings at a decent price. I haven't had the best of luck with them on the past couple of orders so I don't feel like dealing with them again anytime soon.

For those that have used multiple codes in one visit, do you do one transaction, or one per coupon?
Also, has anyone had a problem using a phone to show a coupon? I usually show it on my phone, but I'm gonna be stopping at a different B&N and want to make sure.

Re: Barnes & Nobles 40% Off Bluray Sale (Dec. 2014)
Good question. I did buy another cheap item at the same time, using a 25% coupon. It never occurred to me that you might need to buy multiple items in order to use it. All I know is when she first applied the coupon, it wiped out the 30% discount. She had to delete the item, re-add it, re-apply the 30% coupon, and then she got the $5 coupon to work. She commented "oh, the instructions are right here!" but I'm not sure what she did... It wasn't a manual override though...
