The answer to all of those is 'it depends' unfortunately. Some of my stores/clerks will only do a single coupon per transaction but are happy to split things up, others will do Unique coupons a bunch at a time.

Same thing with the phone and just a list of codes instead of printed copies.

If they do take multiple unique codes in one transaction, and one is 30% and others are 25%, will there be anyway to know which one will get the 30%, or would I be best just using the 30% by itself?

Picked up "Time Bandits" CC yesterday, stacked the 30% coupon on top of the sale, got it for $16-and-change. Thanks for the heads-up!

Picked up the "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington" digibook with the 25% off non- member coupon.

$9.77 w/tax out the door.

Also, has anyone had a problem using a phone to show a coupon? I usually show it on my phone, but I'm gonna be stopping at a different B&N and want to make sure.

I used two today. I did it in separate transactions. One of the coupons I had printed and the other they had no problem scanning on my phone.

I can confirm that Disney 3D titles are included. My store did not publicize the sale much and only a few racks got the 40% stickers, so I was unsure.

How are people getting Criterion titles for $16 with the 30% off coupon?

$40 list - 40% = $24
$24 - 10% member discount = $21.60
$21.60 - 30% member coupon = $15.12

$21.60 - 25% non-member coupon = $16.20

I plan on heading up there today and grabbing a few titles with some 25% coupons. Also gonna give my manager a plate of cookies since he was so good to me on Black Friday.

I was able to get Time Bandits for $13.59(the cashier was cool with taking the $8 off of $40 coupon).

Are all Criterion blu-rays 40% off in store already? I was in the store the other day and didn't see them discounted.

There are still a handful of the Value Items and Special sale items that are 50% off, but those usually have special stickers on them.

There are a few specialty items that always seem to get left out -- Warner Archive items someone mentioned, I've seen CD/Bluray combo packs or Music Bluray that are classified as CDs for some reason. I've not heard of any of the Large boxsets this year being left off -- I think last year if any of the stores had teh Doctor Who Complete set or Breaking Bad barrel there were some people that said they were excluded.

Thanks! I totally missed that.....had no idea Criterions were part of the 40% off sale. I'm glad I came here and found out, otherwise I wouldn't have used the 30%off in store coupon. THanks guys!

I may try and pick up the Vincent Price vol. 2 set($47.99 pre 25% coupon) and The Hobbit DoS 3D EE($33 pre 25% coupon). Neither are available at the store closest to me, but I should be going past one that does have both in stock this weekend.

Not really wanting to pay $25 for The Hobbit DoS, but The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey 3D EE has not come down in price since it's release. Luckily I picked that one up from GoHastings at a decent price. I haven't had the best of luck with them on the past couple of orders so I don't feel like dealing with them again anytime soon.

I was able to reserve both of these and picked them up yesterday. The guy running the register even let me use two 25% coupons at once with out asking. My local store makes you do separate transactions, but that's no big deal as the employees are still super cool there.

Went ahead and picked up a few more Criterions yesterday with the coupons hariseldon gave me (thanks!). They were a little more expensive than Black Friday, but not by much.

Time Bandits
Safety Last! (really wanted this last time, but they didn't have it)
Judex
Safe
Master of the House
Monsieur Verdoux

Manager also really enjoyed his cookies, and said I was very thoughtful. :)

Does anyone happen to know what day BN gets new stock? I live by several BNs that always have everything and none of them have anything anymore. I'm hoping to get a thing or two on Monday if new stock comes in.

You must have got in before the coupon restrictions were put in place. Online it says it no longer qualifies for coupons. Also at stores the coupons will no longer scan a discount at the register unless they over ride the system.

My 30% coupon for the Batman LE came up as "item does not qualify..." The manager said to enter it manually.

I anticipate some fun when I go to use my 25's this week.

Wow, that's new. I used it on that last Thursday. I bet a lot of people have, so they are trying to disable it.

I didn't know that. Glad I went first day for once... Usually I'm quite the procrastinator.

That sounds like my experience yesterday. The employees at the store were scratching their heads trying to figure out why the coupon would not apply a discount to the Batman box set. They kept reading the coupon and looking at the computer for a reason. Finally called the manager to get approval to add the discount. In the end it worked out since I was able to get 30% off everything I purchased for the delays.

For a few minutes I thought they were going to tell me I could not use the coupon. No way I was going to buy it without the extra discount with the coupon.

Glad I got the titles I was interested in as this nonsense will put an end to my urges to go and find something else to buy just because coupons are out there.

Re: Barnes & Nobles 40% Off Bluray Sale (Dec. 2014)

I forgot to mention that I was successful in getting the $5 of $50 coupon applied to the Batman LE on top of the 30%. I deliberately had it prepared on my phone; I have a Blackberry and the small print is very hard to read.:D I showed it to her and as she said "Where did you get this? I didn't get this," and she proceeded to punch it in, and I said nothing.

I was planning to try it again with a 25% off on Twin Peaks, but I can't decide if I'm going to get it. My wife is grumbling about it. She's pretty burned out on all this, as she's had to put up with it since the start of the Criterion 50% off sale. Then there was the BBC sale and a lot of Tom Baker Doctor Who. Now the 40%. Thankfully, it all ends in two days.

Re: Barnes & Nobles 40% Off Bluray Sale (Dec. 2014)

Two questions:

(1) When does the 40% sale end? I know the first post says Dec. 24 but usually these sales end on a Monday.

(2) If you just have codes (and not coupons), do you just hand the written code to the clerk & ask them to punch it in? Does this also work for ship-to-home orders?

Thanks for the help!

Meant to do the 50-mile round trip drive today but was too busy at home to get away.

(2) I either say "I have the code, I'll read it to you," or there's a link somewhere that can transform the code into a barcode-d coupon. The coupon you can print or wave at them on a phone.

You are allowed to use (most-to-all) coupons on ship-to-home orders, although some cashiers are unwilling to help. But some cashiers are unwilling to help on anything - It Is Allowed. :)

Not really much of a deal, but I picked up A Christmas Carol(George C Scott) for $6.99(25% B&N cpn + $2 manu. cpn) and The Town That Dreaded Sundown for $12.14. I only recently saw TTTDS for the first time and decided to pick it up.
