New VCI Website Is Up Focusing On Blu's

A few interesting classic titles, including a forthcoming "4k restoration" of Joan Crawford's Rain; but the prices on the newer titles are $25-$30. I don't see VCI as a boutique label......... Also unsure if they're pressed or burned.

Re: New VCI Website Is Up Focusing On Blu's

"Well its been a long-time coming, but we are excited to announce the New and Improved VCI website has finally launched! The old website had been on its last leg for a couple of years and was running on old technology, but the new website is taking advantage of the latest state-of-the-art web-technology. This means enhanced capability; improved security …and we think it has a sleeker and cooler look to boot!
If you’re reading this, then you are in the BIG NEWS! section, which is new for 2020. In this section we will bring late-breaking articles about what we’re up to, including new movie acquisitions, behind-the- scenes of restoration project, guest bloggers and stories about Hollywood and motion picture history."

I wish VCI well, it's getting tougher and tougher for independent movie labels surviving on physical media sales.

They are local to me, I wonder how much it would be to buy their operation?

Re: New VCI Website Is Up Focusing On Blu's

Wow! I'm not sure if I'll pull the trigger (since I'm drowning in media at the moment already), but I put three titles in my cart:
  • Santa Claus
  • Dark Night of the Scarecrow
  • Twilight People
...and it came to $30.76 shipped: just over $10 a title! That same order is $52.97 at Amazon.

Just watch the discount. There are a few titles that *don't* get the discount but nothing tells you otherwise. You must pay attention to the $$ amount in your cart to catch them.

Code isn't working for the Noir volumes, either.

If you’re referring to the Noir Archive sets, those are part of the Kit Parker label, so as mentioned above they’re already discounted 25% and the other code won’t work.

As for other titles not working, those might also be Kit Parker or Sprocket Vault titles, which isn’t always clear. It would be easier if they specified right in the listing titles. It doesn’t help that all three labels seem to use the same graphic designer.

I missed that bit - both in the message above and the email they sent. The titles I found that aren't included are all Kit Parker titles.

It says in the email that the Kit Parker sets are already 25% off & the code isn't supposed to work on them work, that is correct.

I'm interested in 4 Star Playhouse (DVD), but want to know if it's burned or pressed.

Bit late here, but I ordered these Blu-rays last week:

BLOOD AND BLACK LACE
BRUCE'S DEADLY FINGERS
GORGO
HUMAN MONSTER
LEG FIGHTER'S
ONE MILLION B.C.

$68.70 shipped.

Looking forward to more of those Pearl River releases of old HK/Taiwan movies like Leg Fighters. I already have Arrow's Blood & Black Lace, but I'm curious to see the alternative supplements on VCI's version.

Probably worth it for huge fans of Blood & Black Lace.

I have the Roan of that set, too. It was specifically selected due to reviews indicating it was the best version available.

I'd like to; concerned that I'm spending too much money already. Both of my sources of income aren't as stable as usual right now.
