Re: Barnes & Noble 50% off Criterions! (11/1/16 - 11/28/16)
Without these coupons, I essentially need to spend $250 in store (since there is no 10% discount online) to make a $25 membership worth it. I'm almost certain I don't do that. I'll have to think hard on this moving forward.

Wow, Target in NYC carries Criterions? I don't think I've ever seen a single copy anywhere in a store around here. Of course that could be said about any store local to me other than BN since BBY discontinued the majority of Criterions a few years ago. I guess Costco sometimes carries a few though most of the time my closest doesn't have them. I guess it depends on how close to a store you live as well. I'll assume Target is closer to your or your daily commute than an of the BN

Got the 30% off member coupon(?) but CC's are excluded. Shit, After this sale - I don't think it's going to be worth keeping the membership anymore.

For me, this is the time of year when the membership starts to pay off- and it has less and less to do with the Criterions every year.
With the steady stream of coupons out over the holidays, it's not too hard to find a good deal on something I want. And the big thing with the membership is you don't have to worry about a minimum threshold for free shipping.
For example, the recent Warner Archive Bds (Goodbye Girl, Time After Time, It's Always Fair Weather).
Each of these ended up being a few cents over $15- shipped. That handily beats both Amazon and DD with their coupon codes. Pay for them with a $75 gift card, and get another $10 back. It adds up.
I do order way more stuff with Amazon Prime throughout the year- but that's also over $100 now.
For $25 I feel like I get my money's worth over about 10 or more online orders, plus the two criterion sales.
YMMV of course.

I'm going to tell my wife to let our membership lapse. It just isn't worth it anymore. I can get most of the other stuff sold in store elsewhere even after the 20% off coupons plus 10% off membership discount.

Just for kicks, tried the 30% coupon in the local B&N, and they didn't work (not surprisingly).
My wife was happy about at this change of policy, since we have a huge backlog of Criterion BDs, and she didn't think we needed anymore.
I agree, it was nice while it lasted.

I'm planning to make a trip tomorrow for my first and only stops for this sale. Are any coupons able to be used in store for members? I do have the snail mail coupons. Are they doing that regular holiday gift card deal?
Are Criterion titles included in the 40% off sale? Are there the same coupon restrictions then? Would it be cheaper to buy them then if there are no restrictions on coupons?

Members got via snail mail 2 20% off coupons (1 item per coupon) that you can use. That alone with the 10% members discount brings most titles to $14.99 plus tax. Coupon simply says "1 item per coupon", and I haven't had any issue using them for my Criterion pickups.

Do prices revert back to normal online immediately on November 29th at 12:01 am? I'm hoping I can price match early Tuesday morning.

The Criterions are still on the 50% sale. I'm not sure what 40% you are referencing.
There are the snail mail 20% you have, a couple 15% printables, the 30% Black Friday coupons, and the normal New Member coupons.
???on the 40% sale, but most BD and DVD are 30% (some 40 or 50%) in store if they were marked that way prior to BF.
Other than the 5/50 coupons none of them are working automatically for Criterions -- the website linked on the coupons technically exclude all Criterions and the BF coupon specifically list Criterions excluded on the coupon print, but some stores will manually allow them and others will not.
The coupons seem to be working for most other usual items (not legos, Nook, Rosetta, etc).
There is a Gift Card deal in store -- for every $50GC you get a $10Promo GC which is good from 12/26-3/31 though there are ways around the expire date, but maybe not the activation date though some folks say they work online already (not confirmed)
Coupons/links are in teh WIKI of the BN Master Coupon thread

I know where the coupons are located. I was trying to figure out which ones are actually working in store for Criterions. It sounds like maybe the snail mail coupons and the $5 off $50. Thanks for the help.

Re: Barnes & Noble 50% off Criterions! (11/1/16 - 11/28/16)
Wow. Awesome breakdown. My stores almost never allow me to use more than one coupon per transaction, but it's good information for everyone to have.
I wish the 40% sale would be longer, but there's still enough time to do some damage.
I'm in shock that I'm barely planning to make my first trip in this sale. In the past, I would go probably at least once per weekend, often twice. I think the Arrow sale last month depleted much of the funds that would have normally gone to the Criterion sale. It's probably for the best. Ha, ha.

Re: Barnes & Noble 50% off Criterions! (11/1/16 - 11/28/16)
I was able to use 15% off coupons multiple times on this sale. Yes, it requires some persistence and sometimes a call for the manager, but it worked every time.
I didn't try it with 30% off coupon, because it explicitly excludes Criterion titles and I felt I had no legal ground to assault employees...

Not a member and it's clear I'm not going to find a coupon, so I went for it. Picked up Boyhood, The Squid and the Whale, and also Pan's Labyrinth for my wife for Christmas. I had gift cards so it was all free. Have enough gift card balance to pick up a 4th and 5th title but held back so when His Girl Friday comes out next year I can get that plus another title for free shipping in the next sale.

What 15% coupons? I don't get any in the mail and I'm not a member. Where do I get them?

Okay, I missed those. Looking back, I see a few people who had success but enough didn't that I didn't look that much into it. I don't know. The closest B&N is ten minutes away and the month is incredibly busy. $17 instead of $20 is great, absolutely, but if it only works sometimes and things may not be in stock, I'm just going to go with the $20, especially when I'm using gift cards. But yes, I'll take a closer look next time when I want to pick up His Girl Friday and Dr. Strangelove.

So what do you lot think? Is this the end of casually using coupons for the sale?
Unless B&N changed it up for some reason... I don't think we'll have great deals anymore. Or... great deals, I should say. With the coupons. Whomp whomp.
