Got one order through with the 20% on everything, including Criterions. Went to place a second and no luck on the Criterions (even with other stuff). Unless there's a new trick I'm missing?

You might have a problem there. I just tried to apply a 20% off code I received in the mail to the GTD Blu-ray set, but received a "Item(s) in your bag are not eligible for this promotion" message. I have never had issues before with using these on in-stock Criterion titles.

Apparently they fixed the 20% off everything trick. It only took 20% off the non Criterion items in my cart.

Guess I will wait to see if they have a reusable 30% off coupon for Black Friday that works in store.

Update:

I spoke to a B&N CSR, and explained the situation with the 20% off snail mail coupon not working. After placing me on hold and looking into it she found that Criterions were now excluded from the additional 20% off discount. She then tried a "different type" of 20% off code and it did not work either.

I am upset that I just recently renewed my B&N membership for $25, as the Criterion sales were where I essentially got 80-90% for my value/usage of the membership.

Hey Hariseldon,

The coupon I was referencing came in a mailer with two 20% off coupons, each one good for a single item. I noted that movies are not listed in the fine print exclusions list. They are twelve digit codes, with an expiration date of 11/13.

Has anyone used a coupon in store for a Criterion. If that no longer works then I guess I will let my membership expire at the end of the month.

^^it will need an Override so huge YMMV with the Clerks/Manager.

I used two of the mailer coupons referenced above. It did require an override, but it was not a big deal. The new member coupons were a big deal, and were specifically banned.

I wonder if they will be more liberal when the Black Friday coupons are released.
