Re: New Foxxonnect 50% Off Flash Sale

I really appreciate the thread meanwhile, as I was somehow ignoring the e-mail (in an effort not to spend money yet), but I do want that Wolverine set and I've wanted to get around to Kingdom of Heaven (even if I'm not sure that it has all the special features that the 4-Disc DVD did), and there are some misc. DVD's that I'll pick up for $3.50.

I am holding off on all the TV shows in the hopes that they'll be a bit cheaper for BF. For example, Vikings S2 for $16 is unquestionably a good price (after the 50%), but it might be just a bit better then, and there are enough shows I'm interested in that those savings would add up. And given that all, or nearly all, of these will still be available next year then that seems the more prudent course.

Meanwhile, searching through my wish lists then I really wished that some studios like Lionsgate had their own site, and then a check shows that they do. D'oh! Anyone have any experience with them?

Re: New Foxxonnect 50% Off Flash Sale

I noticed that Fox Connect has stopped carrying some items like the James Bond Complete Blu ray set, Vikings Season One is only available on DVD (no blu), and the Shirley Temple Little Daring DVD set of 18 movies is MIA. These sets are still being sold at Target, Costco, and Amazon so it not like they are out of print.

They didn't release It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 9 on Blu-ray, either.

Interesting to know and keep in mind, thanks.

Yeah, there have been a few, with Witches of East End S1 being another that I don't think ever made it to Blu. I don't think they've cut back the way say, Disney has with tv shows, but there have certainly been some omissions.

Re: New Foxxonnect 50% Off Flash Sale

I put together a small dvd order ($25 is the min fir free ship), but decided to hold off & not finish the purchase. The pickings are getting slim for me, & I looked at every movie on the site (at least I think I did).

I'm pretty late to the party but Dawn 3D is still available. Ordered Grand Budapest Hotel as well which will probably mean Criterion will announce soon. Thanks OP.

Re: New Foxxonnect 50% Off Flash Sale

man this fox connect website is a real mickey mouse piece of shit. Its asking for billing information.

I'm Canadian so its asking

State or Province. Yet it lists NO provinces.

Country: I click on it and United States is the ONLY option.

WHY ASK WHAT COUNTRY IF USA IS THE ONLY THING YOU CAN CLICK ON. GRRRR.

I wasn't planning on getting anything but I couldn't pass up that Dawn Of the Planet of the Apes 3D. Looking around I also grabbed the Comic Con exclusives of Edward Scissorhands and Princess Bride.

Picked up Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Sleepy Hollow: Season 1, both on Blu-ray, for $29. Not bad.

When I ordered the Bronson set, I didn't even realize The original Death Wish was not part of it. My bad, but would not have ordered it had I known. Those tiny pictures with tiny prints got me

Re: New Foxxonnect 50% Off Flash Sale

Deal over. Coupon expired (posted for those thinking about ordering with separate accounts).

I believe last year they repeated the 50% flash sales (aside from BF sale) by doing separate sales for tv, movie, etc.

Nah, it'll likely be a few years before Criterion gets to it. They'll put out Moonrise Kingdom first.

I don't expect retail to give much of an effort over media sales this Christmas. I've been tracking DVD and Blu-ray sales since they first hit the Internet, and 2014 was by far the poorest year ever for discounts. The best media "deals" now are the stolen items found on eBay.

I agree. This year has been poor for deals from mainstream retailers (B&M & online). The last advertised item I picked up was back in June. A sparse few unadvertised finds since then. My deals this year have mostly been used items from yard sales and Half Price Books sales. I passed on this Foxconnect effort--I got most of what I want from them last year.

Depends on what you're looking for. Some of the megamart BF ads are starting to leak, and there's quite a few heavy hitters I held off on buying that will be going for $10 or less (usually less)--The Lego Movie, Edge of Tomorrow, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Days of Future Past, etc. Assuming Amazon price matches, there's going to be plenty for me to pick up.

The rest of my stuff is split between catalog items that are usually heavily discounted during the holidays and more cult-y items I may see a price reduction on.

My order shipped First Class Mail on 11/07/14 from AL. Arrived at main PO (Hon, Hi) on 11/08/14. Delivered to me today. Heck why can't Amazon & GH get here that fast. This was my first time ordering from FC.
