Phenomenal deal on a really great set. I have it and it's really nice. I think the UK version deletes one commentary track on Dracula, but there's still a ton of extra content and I can confirm the discs are region-free

I bought this a couple years ago & it's excellent. My only complaint is as per there usual Universal put a upo flag on zoom, which bites for those of us with old full screen tv's.

I put cardboard boxes (painted black to match the color of my TV of course) on the top and bottom of my television. It's a perfect Letterbox view for my CRT.

I think Moo4 is saying that since it's Bluray, these are 1.33 images in a 1.77 box, so on a 1.33 tv, there's black bars on all four sides.


So how does shipping this to the USA work? And there's no PAL/NTSC nonsense to worry about is there?

Yep. The issue is with zoom one can enlarge the picture by exactly 20% to defeat that. There is no logical reason for Universal to prohibit that, but they do. The only fix is to rip the br & remove the UPO's.

Pal vs NTSC is not an issue if you have a hi-def set. It is an issue on CRT's, but my Oppo converts it fine. Shipping is a bit slow; depends on whether they send from the UK(a little slow), or Germany (REALLY slow).

Somewhere in the help section it's stated. You can then Google the exchange rate & get the exact #. Other than the dreadful exchange rate, it's surprisingly low.

For blu-rays, you don't need to worry about PAL/NTSC - but you do have to worry about Region coding. This set is "Region Free", so you're good to go.

I put it on the family room TV every year at Halloween every year to play in the background for trick or treaters.

BTW : The set includes a 3D version of Creature as well

Deal's dead. I haven't seen any of the eight movies so 30 bucks was worth it to me. Specially for horror movies considered to be classics.
