I'm no expert, but as "shrink" software is available for Blu-Ray files (similar to DVD Shrink or DVD Rebuilder), there is likely a high-end commercial solution, too. If the original 4K master does need altered, it's possible you're *both* right. :)

Isn't the amount of compression of the video on the disc determined at encoding time though? I understand it's the same 4K master source, but when it's encoded for Blu-ray using one of the BD standard codecs (MPEG-2, MPEG-4, AVC ,etc), the level of compression and thus final file size is determined. Maybe I'm just using the wrong term though.

You're right. It will definitely use the same *transfer* as the 4K BD, but if it needs to be compressed more, it will be a different *encode*. I would think they would do a new encode of the original transfer, rather than take the current encode and compress it further.

Of course, this is only if they even need to compress it further.

So, got the fliers in the paper today and no Ghostbusters BDs. What gives?

I'm wondering as well. I ordered it with another title released next week from the same vendor and the other title shipped by itself. Uh-oh.

Guess I'll be going to Best Buy on Tuesday unless Target is the same price. I never have good luck with them accepting manufacturers coupons.

Target's price will be $18.99

BOTH stores are stating that this item WILL NOT be carried in the brick & mortar stores........ :(

Walmart's price will be $15.96.

Winner winner, chicken dinner.

Still $19.96 or so on their website.

Walmart's online prices very rarely are the same as their instore. Most Walmart instore prices are location specific. It could be $1 or $2 more here versus by PhantomStranger. There's no consistency across their store pricing.

Hopefully they are carrying it in-store, since Best Buy and Target claim they are not.

I'd rather not go in to a Walmart if I don't have to (since there's no guarantee of in-store copies), so I just ordered it from Amazon and asked them for a price adjustment via chat. Good enough for me.

$15.96 at the Walmart in Germantown, WI. They had 3 copies (2 now) and no issues using the coupon. Great deal!

No problems using the coupon at the Westbury, LI, NY Walmart. Got a mint copy despite the
fact it was encased in one of those plastic "tombs". 3 copies left here.

Thanks to the OP for the coupon link.

Saw the 2-pack digibook at my local BB this morning, so some stores are carrying these.

The Target in Vancouver I went to had multiple copies. No problems with the coupon.

$10.96 out the door at WM in Salem, NH. Coupon scanned without problem at the self service checkout station.

You can use coupons at self checkout? Then what do you do with the coupon?

Usually you are required to place the coupon into a slot at the self-service register. The same is true at the supermarkets here in CT. It is presumed (on my part) that once slotted, the coupon is scanned again to verify that it is indeed a coupon with barcode (as opposed to being a gum wrapper).

Yep, I do the same thing. It also eliminates the clueless employees from staring at the coupon and looking for loopholes on why they can't accept it.

I did the same thing. Like mentioned above, no cashier needed to figure out how not to take it.

I will try this on the way home tonight! I always prefer the self service checkout. Those are smarter than the cashiers there...

15.96 at walmart in michigan... was a nice surprise since i'd have wasted 2$ in gas to hit up BB for 17.99. so 10.96 before tax was excellent.

The Best Buy I visited today wouldn't honor the coupon. Had a manager come over to basically tell me I wasn't the only person today who tried to use it, but since it wouldn't scan in their system, they couldn't accept it.

Got it for $12.99 with coupon at Best Buy, during one of my ever-decreasing trips there. Good enough, considering I paid $19.99 EACH for the DVDs of Ghostbusters I and II back in 1999.
