Re: Target deals
That's the big concern on waiting of course, that the set can go oop.

Re: Target deals
I'm not so sure about that. And if it happens, I may not catch the deal until its over like the Mill Creek closeout—I wanted "That 70s Show." I'm still waiting for "Mad Men" complete to drop and I waited far too long for "Batman 1966" special edition—may pick that up very soon.
So, with the X-Files at $7.50 a season you are talking $67.50 for the entire 9 seasons—55 friggin' discs! The complete series would have to be below that price, at around $1 a disc to make sense for those who snagged all 9 seasons at Target. Frankly, I don't see that happening. I picked up the complete "Boardwalk Empire" at Best Buy for $69.99—still the lowest I have ever seen that series on sale and it enjoyed half the number of seasons. If you look at the unboxing video on You Tube, the X Files packaging is just a very flimsy box with the same jewel cases inside as buying individually—nothing special by any stretch. In my opinion, it makes no sense to wait in order to have a cumbersome box and save a few bucks that would barely allow me to grab a hamburger and fries at McDonalds. I can catch the individual seasons I need to complete the set used or on sale. Far more likely to score the individual seasons for less than $10 each.

Re: Target deals
Some new preorders up with $5 Target giftcard for: Zootopia 2D/3D, Batman v Superman 2D/3D/DVD, The Choice BD/DVD, Joy BD/DVD/4k (first 4k release I've seen with a $5 giftcard option)

Re: Target deals
Looks like Target removed some of the preorders with the $5 gift cards (BvS, Joy), but added some new ones (13 Hours, Kung Fu Panda 3, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2)
They also added exclusive versions of Zootopia (2D & 3D). So I canceled my old one and placed a new one.

Re: Target deals
Yes those are useless and the glue ruins the actual keepcase. Limited run alternative insert art would have made more sense to move these titles. However, much of the artwork is so piss-poor it's laughable. When will they learn that more often than not the original poster art is preferable to the crap the studios churn out. They could learn a thing or two from Olive Films and Kino/Lorber. But if they have a desire to go "Criterion" they should hire a talented artist.

Re: Target deals
I liked a lot of the limited run slipcovers Fox did for a lot of their titles. I got the one for the original The Fly. But most of these "face plates" were indeed terrible and worthless.

Re: Target deals
I knew the $5 section was on sale so I grabbed a copy of Good Will Hunting. That section seems to be rotated roughly every six months so hopefully we'll see some new titles pretty soon.

Ordered both 3D titles. Should probably also get the UHD of Allegiant, but I'll see what prices that ends up at when it's out.

Re: Target deals
Insurgent is $16.96 preorder on Amazon right now. I'm guessing Lionsgate will be first to regularly price this low, so I'm guessing the other Divergent titles will follow in price. I only pre-ordered the X-Men 4K title.

Re: Target deals
I see Target thinks that X-MEN will be Blu/DVD/Digital or 3D Blu/(Blu)/Digital, whereas elsewhere I see a suggestion of Blu/Digital and 3D/Digital (i.e. no DVD with the 2D). Anyone know which is likely to be correct?
