As long as the cashier can scan the bar code, they usually work.

I was hoping to report back either way today, but the collection of titles on sale was so underwhelming that I walked out with nothing. But in the past I believe I've always had success with those kind of printouts. YMMV.

Re: Target deals

FYI, Target has 20% off on certain items online through Monday for their President's Day sale. It seems to be working on all Blu Rays. Use code DEAL20. That would put GOTS4 around $32 (and even cheaper if you have Red Card). I'm going to wait and see if they drop it down to the sale price on Sunday, which would put it at $28 after discount.

It works on pre-orders, so you can save a little money on items like Game of Thrones next week.

Tried it on a few BDs and it didn't work. Not sure which ones it will work on.

EDIT: Deal is dead. It applies to non-Movie stuff. Apparently worked on a few movies but no longah.

In case anybody wondered, it does not work on the exclusive. It says as much in the fine print, but I tried anyway and confirmed it's coded to only work on the non-exclusive version. Often the Cartwheel deals work beyond the official text when it comes to movies.

Interstellar Steelbook Blu-ray is $19.99. If it can be found in a store that is.

Re: Target deals

Probably YMMV: Target in South Plainfield also had Hobbit Battle of Five Armies Blu ray for $13. It scans as $24.99 but there is a sign for it so they are honoring the $13.

Re: Target deals

Post #88 has that as one of the $13 sale titles. I did see it at my local Target for the same price as well.

Re: Target deals

I'm tempted to buy the first two seasons of Arrow for $15 each. Not sure if I want to commit to them both though.

If it makes the decision any easier, you could easily sell off the Digital Codes for both, bringing down the price down significantly.

The instore ones I saw looked like Blu-ray only, not the Blu/DVD/Digital I have... does the Blu-only include digital?

Arrow is great, though, and worth the commitment (well, worth mine at least).

Re: Target deals

Season 1 of Arrow that I found was Blu Ray only, but Season 2 was Blu Ray, DVD and Ultra Violet.

Do it, season two is one of the most memorable seasons in recent television history. The show is heavily serialized, you will need to watch the lesser first season.

Warner reissued Arrow Season 1 with only the Blu-rays included. The original sets had the DVDs and UV copies. That seems to be the plan going forward on popular TV sellers.

I didn't make it out there before they closed. I'll get them next time they go on sale, unless the current one goes into next week.

Re: Target deals

They're also on Netflix if you're on the fence. I'm halfway through season 2 and struggling. For me, both seasons have flaws;

Season 1
Spoiler:
Any scene with Tommy drags the show to a grinding halt. All the island scenes are B-movie quality and Slade doesn't help as he feels like a B-movie character/actor/performance.

Season 2:
Spoiler:
Again with the island stuff. Ugh. Tommy dragging down the show has been replaced by any and all scenes with Laurel. Holy shit her drunk ass is getting on my nerves.

The show has so much potential because Amill is amazing, as is Diggle & Felicity and the action and choreography is amazing for network television.

I struggled with Season One as well. I am well versed with the comics character and this series version, could not hold my interest.

The second season is quite a bit better, but "Mirakuru" quickly came to be my least favorite word/concept/anything ever.

I couldn't get over the killed-hundreds-on-trial-for-mass-murder-why-not-run-for-mayor subplot either.

Re: Target deals

I think what separated season two in my mind were the far more compelling flashbacks with Oliver on the ship. They were very effective in weaving the flashbacks during season two with what was going on as Deathstroke attacked Star City in the present.
