As I was shopping at my local B & N, the Local Clerk allowed as they had just received a message from Criterion that they were no longer making Dual-format editions, as their survey showed that people either wanted DVD or Blu-ray.
The Clerk continued that the price would be lowered by about ten dollars for the DVD, but not for the Blu-ray. The Blu-ray price would remain the same.

I called customer service and they're sending a replacement expedited.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is in similar packaging and didn't have any issues. This must have just gotten crushed on the truck.
That makes sense. The price of the dual-format edition BDs never went up in price as it is.

Is there a secret to getting the 15% off e-mail coupons without being a member?
I signed up for the e-mail list, but so far I've gotten no e-mails from B&N at all.

Poster asked a polite question; a polite answer is probably appropriate.

To expand on the above, nobody seems to know why some e-mail signups are successful in getting on the coupon distribution list and others are not. Coupons are coming tonight so if you don't see something in the AM, the attempt to sign up was not successful.

My advice - sign up multiple times with multiple e-mail adresses to increase one's chances.

When did you sign up? The coupons for this weekend won't come out until midnight tonight.

If you've been a member for a while, sometimes they just screw up and don't send 'em. You can call CS, but there's no guarantee they'll fix it. Your best bet is to come on here tomorrow and see if anyone has an extra. There usually quite abundant.

In regards to why some people may or may not get the emails, I've noticed all of my B&N emails go straight to spam. Not sure why since their email address is on my contact list. But that's a possible place to look if you don't see any in your inbox.
