Re: Criterion flash sale

Got my order in this morning.... pretty pleased with the quickness of the shipment... unfortunately Fantastic Mr Fox was OOS when I went to complete my order, so I ordered it from Amazon, and of course they are taking forever... have the BBS set, Blue is the Warmest Color, and Foreign Correspondent to tide me over

Re: Criterion flash sale

Anyone know what their standard shipping fees are?
(For the next sale)

Nope. Over $50 and it's free, though.

Expensive enough that you really want to get enough discs to go over $50.

Re: Criterion flash sale

Received my package today. Sadly, I did not receive one of the 20 special envelopes

The replacement case/art for 400 Blows was $6 by itself before the sale (which is why I waited for the sale to throw it on top of my order) so I'd say it starts at $6 for the first disc.

Re: Criterion flash sale

No envelope but they shipped my order really fast and I used free shipping. Picked up the most recent two Chaplin's and Fantastic Mr Fox.

Re: Criterion flash sale

Got my 3 Blus in the mail today, shipped in a box. No golden ticket. Now just have to sit tight until July. . .

Re: Criterion flash sale

I did not receive a golden ticket, I did get a disk with a deep razor cut on the spine. You would think that if any company would have the minimal brain power required to just slightly turn their box cutter in order not to damage their product it would be Criterion, alas this is not the case.

Re: Criterion flash sale

And the first one I opened was an obvious reseal with mangled liner notes.

This is the last time I buy Criterions direct.

Yes, these problems can obviously be avoided by ordering from a reseller, instead of going direct for the Criterion warehouse. Right?

Re: Criterion flash sale

I hear resellers don't actually ever touch the items they resell, so it's probably better. Also, they're not allowed to own box cutters.

Re: Criterion flash sale

Question: while I wasn't fast enough to pounce on this sale, I hope to add a number of Criterion Blu's to my collection in 2014. Is this typically the best offer available (either from Criterion or elsewhere), half off MSRP with free shipping?

Re: Criterion flash sale

Often the B&N sales stack with other coupons, and then those are typically the best regular deals. Especially if you have a B&M B&N nearB&Y.
