Very good prices on Kino Classics Blu-rays at DVDPlanet
 

The prices are low enough to get me to buy now without waiting for a coupon or a sale. They have the lowest price by at least $5 on a few other titles but I'm just getting a few. Free shipping on orders $35 and up.

• Die Nibelungen (2 disc) is only $15.59.
• Intolerance is $21.59. (Yesterday it was $26.84)
• The Hitch-hiker is $14.97.
• You can get the individual releases of Battleship Potemkin and Strike for $13.90 each or spring for the combo set at $21.43.
• Of Human Bondage is $11.45. Who can forget, "And after you kissed me, I always used to wipe my mouth! WIPE MY MOUTH!"

I don't know anything about Kino Blu pricing but Intolerance seems pretty low for a new release and that made me check a few others on my wish list. The Hitch-hiker has a "Recommended" review at DVDTalk and the rest are "Highly Recommended."

Les Vampires is $15.59. Lower than Amazon's historical low by about $8.

Ordered Les Vampires (in stock), Die Niebelungen (not in stock, should ship 5-10 days), and... Conan the Barbarian (filler to get to free shipping).

Haven't ordered from these guys in many years, we'll see how this turns out. I've been avoiding DD for a while, but here's hoping these guys are marginally better. At historical lows for these two Blus, I figured it was worth a shot.

I'd like to get the Die Nibelungen; I still have the original Kino DVD; but last week dealing with this site was a nightmare. I need to wait to have some patience at minimum.........

Wow. Battleship Potemkin on Blu-ray is $13.90. The DVD is 6 cents more ;-)

My Les Vampires and Conan have already shipped, so no complaints from me so far. We'll see if Die Nibelungen ever comes in, and how long it takes to get here before I claim success.

I finally got their website to take my card & bit on Die Nibelungen. Also hope I get it! I wish the site would have been more accommodating when the Karloff Thriller DVD box was on sale.............

I wouldn't give up hope.
The grossly mispriced Ten Commandments UCE set finally shipped (for $9) so as long as the title isn't OOP and you have a modicum of patience - it should be yours.

Mine went into back order status sometime this evening. So far there's only a "hold" on the funds on my card. Does DVDP charge on backorders, or wait until it's in stock before processing the charge?

I ordered the Selznick collection, Les Vampires, Birth of a Nation, Die Nibelungen, and Of Human Bondage. All except the last title were out of stock when I ordered - now all have shipped.

DVDPlanet has a good rep with me.

My Die Nibelungen still hasn't shipped. Irritating if orders that came in after mine are already shipping, but can't say it's too unexpected. DVD Planet and DD are crap(shoots).

There's a couple more Kinos I'd like to get, but not until Die Nibelungen ships or they at minimum send an email with when it will ship.

I just sent DVD Planet the following email,

"I'm confused. You emailed me a tracking # on 11/21, 9274xxxxx.

USPS, UPS & Fed Ex all have no record of that tracking #. My DVD Planet account shows not shipped. You charged my bank account on 11/22.

DVDPlanet/Deepdiscount/ImportCDs often give out tracking numbers that don't work for a few days until the package shows up in those shipping systems.

Thanks, but they had no sign of it either. You're probably right though; I am only concerned because on the DVDP site it shows not shipped; & also because they're DVDP.

I called DVDPlanet when I noticed my card was charged but my order history still showed "Not Yet Shipped." The rep I spoke to said they've been having trouble with their e-mail & account systems. My order was shipped the day of the charge & I was given the USPS Delivery Confirmation number over the phone. Everything arrived that I ordered. I notice the price for Intolerance is the only one that fluctuates so I'll just leave the old price in the first post.

I've received everything I ordered, and the one item that was backordered. Online the order still says processing. One of those things.
