Have new release prices gone up over the past year or so? Maybe I'm just out of touch but $24.99 seems awfully expensive for a new-release standard BD. Also, it doesn't indicate it in the ad but doesn't This is the End come with the UV copy, too? It makes it sound like it's just the DVD.

Wizard of Oz is not a steelbook. It's a metalpack.

FYI - It's $19.99 online:

And yes, it comes with the UV DC.

I don't have the Road Warrior trilogy, but I do know that a metalpack is somewhat flimsy when compared to a steelbook. Plus they scratch very easy and the hinges are quite ugly.

Not mine, but you get the idea..

Retail stores have gotten smarter on first-week pricing for the Disney BDs that have the big coupons, charging more for them. Disney's large coupons are clearly distorting retail pricing strategies, leading to higher prices.

Ditto. I had it the basket in fact. Oh well, I'll hold off because I'm sure it'll go on sale sooner rather than later.

Agreed. I don't picture the exclusive selling out at that price. And if it does, then I'll wait to get it for 10 bucks around BF, when someone will surely have a deal.

blu-ray.com mentions that the bonus disc for this is the end is in fact a DVD, not a BLU. http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/This-I.../85747/#Review

i can positively confirm the bonus disc is a Blu-ray disc.

i can also say that there were not many with the Best Buy bonus disc sticker on them.

Re: Best Buy Ad 9/29-10/5/2013

The bonus disc is a BD. It clearly says it on the disc label.

My Best Buy didn't have many copies with the bonus disc, either. There were probably 30 or 40 total copies and 4 were the exclusive.

For some reason when I checkout BB can't find me with my phone number anymore even though my correct number is attached to my account on the website. This has happened twice before today, and the cashier today felt bad for the hassle so she tried knocking $5 off but the system wouldn't let her. She told me to call the 1-888 number and they're sending me a gift card in the mail for the trouble. Say what you want about the stores themselves but their customer service number is top notch.

Same here. Glad I went today. Price matched Target for 22.99, more than I would normally pay for a release, but I loved this movie

Re: Best Buy Ad 9/29-10/5/2013

Strange, my stores had a TON of This Is The End exclusives. Went to two different stores, looking for the Wizard of Oz metal case (which I could not find). At least a dozen bonus discs at each store, perhaps even 20... They were located in multiple locations within the stores as well...

Re: Best Buy Ad 9/29-10/5/2013

I just ordered the Wiz of oz metal case on bb.com. I'm assuming it is 1611422 since that one is not available at any store for pickup, whereas the other one is available everywhere (yet strangely not available for shipping).

Re: Best Buy Ad 9/29-10/5/2013

As part of Best Buy's horror movie promotion for the month of October, picked up Jeepers Creepers 1&2 on blu for $9.99 (didn't see this blu listed on their website.) Also saw Dracula and Frankenstein for $14.99, The Fly (1958) for $9.99 and Halloween 35th Anniv digibook for $19.99. Sorry I don't have a complete list of what's on sale...
