There are separate 3d and blu-ray only editions, which don't seem to have coupons. Oddly, there is not a 4 disc combo pack listed. I got really used to those from Disney.

Hedge your bets if you don't want the 3d version. I am really hoping something better comes along.

That really really sucks. They should have a coupon for all versions, and there should at least be a 3-disc set. Disney is starting to piss me off!!!

On a serious note, wouldn't it be possible that the 3D Blu would also play in a 2D Blu? I can't remember examples of 3D Blus from my collection which had both versions on the same disk. It could be wishful thinking, though.

There are some discs which do, but I believe most of my collection does not.

No previous Disney release has. I have one or two that do. I know that Open Season has both 3D and 2D versions on one disc. But that's a short movie. No way that any 2hr 15 minute movie would be able to fit both a HD 2D and 3D version on a single Blu Ray disc's space.

I am going to vote using my wallet, they are acting like greedy fools now.

The 3D price is WAY TO HIGH and the BR/BVD combo pack is way off base price wise without the 3D disk in it.

$27.99 for the BR only is an insult to our intelligences. They only way to teach Disney a lesson is to have as few as many possible buying the movie.

My vote is NOT to buy any of the disks for the movie.

That said, Disney already got my money when I saw it on the big screen. And not to derail the thread, but it was not that great and and it's not a title I would add to my collection unless it was super cheap anyway.

Not that the this release doesn't suck, but I wouldn't make any judgements based on price today. The prices will certainly drop by release day.

The 3D/BD combo packs were an obvious method of getting people introduced to a new format. The fact that you got comfortable with it isn't the fault of Disney; it's your own! Eventually they had to separate them, try to let the little (3D) guy stand on his own two legs. Pretty soon DVD will be a niche, and you won't get those discs included with your BDs free either. In other words, cash grab my ass. You guys aren't seeing the forest for the trees.

I'm getting the BD combo pack. I don't own 3D anyway, so no big loss.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. You don't own a 3D display so you don't care -- your opinion doesn't mean much, does i?. Those of us that do like the option of watching in 3D or 2D. We expect to be given that choice because when we spend the extra money, that's what we're paying for. Nobody wants to only watch in 3D -- some folks can't see in 3D, many only have a few sets of glasses. My wife flatly refuses to watch a movie in 3D as it gives her headaches. I was hoping to see this movie in 3D sometime and now I'll never be able to.

I'm sure nobody is going to buy the 3D only version and hopefully Disney will go back to business as usual.

You can't chant your way into truth. That doesn't change the fact that including DVD's in Blu-rays was a way to encourage DVD users to switch formats, and 3D BD's in BD packages was a way to encourage BD users to adopt 3D BD. Besides, my not having an invested interested means I'm not wracked with emotional, illogical grief like the lot of yaz!
