I've been denied on using US with express lane in all my area stores which is kind of a bummer because it's the only way I'd be able to get King Arthur and Ip Man I&II.

I haven't done it myself, but if Best Buy doesn't care enough to verify the contents of a case before tossing it into the recycle bin, why should you? Also, aren't some of you that are complaining also doubling up on Facebook accounts to capture extra points for your BBR program? :P
Anyway, planning on going to BB this Sunday. Going for:
Red Dwarf 10
Willow
Hotel Transylvania
And maybe whatever else catches my eye.

Brought in four movies to trade, but initially only found three BR to buy. After much pondering, went with A Knight's Tale as a blind buy on the last one. This flick has been out twelve years, has actors I like in it (Heath Ledger, Alan Tudyk, Mark Addy, James Purefoy and Rufas Sewall), a classic rock soundtrack, and a subject matter I'm also down with - yet somehow in that time, I'd never managed to see it before. Not a bad little popcorn flick for $5.

I can't believe people on this board actually still buy DVD's. Much less try to devise ways on how to save them and not trade them in. But to each their own. I rather have the extra space than to keep old DVD's that I will never watch again. I'm so used to HD that I popped in an old DVD I had and couldn't get past the first 10 mins it looked so bad.

You can verify at BBY, but if these are on sale thru 5/4, you may still be able to order them online, get free shipping and do a return/rebuy with the coupon. I've done return/rebuys on almost every U&S and never had a problem, provided the items are all 7-digit SKUs.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save 4/21/13 - 5/11/13
One trip so far, last Thursday, all three for $4.99 after coupon:
- The Sitter (2011) - Unrated/Theatrical Cut Combo Pack
- Miracle (2004) - Combo Pack
- Stand By Me (1986) - 25th Anniversary Edition (Glad to finally have this on Blu-ray, it's one of my all time favorites)
This store was ridiculously unorganized, both service and inventory. I've had better retail service at Walmart of all places, its no wonder they've been losing customers to Amazon.
Still looking to get The Goonies, The Sandlot, Ti West's The House of the Devil, and Limitless (all for ~$4.99 each) that the store I went to didn't have in-stock. I have another store over an hour drive in the opposite direction so I don't know when I'll get to check that one(though I tend to have better luck there).

I almost left a store with nothing yesterday, but I found The Sandlot on an end-cap on the way out. I was pleased to find out it was the 20th Anniversary + Blu/DVD Combo + it has a slipcover.

If you don't have them yet, BB has a display for Star Trek with most of the single movies on sale for $9.99. Started today.

Had some good luck this AM - my store did not have a display for the star trek movies but they had plenty of them unlike Iron Man where I grabbed one of the two only copies they had. Also grabbed the last Almost Famous and they had just restocked so grabbed Taxi Driver and North by Northwest.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save 4/21/13 - 5/11/13
I always thought I was lucky to never have any of those bad U&S experiences. That is until today....
I went to the Signal Hill, CA store to get 5 of the Star Trek Blu Rays (1 through 5). They only had 3 of them. I traded in my 5 movies, got the 3 they had and coupons for the remaining 2. I then went to the Lakewood store to look for the missing movies and the 6th movie. I also took in 3 more DVDs in case I saw anything I wanted. The lady at the counter there said "you can't have those coupons. They weren't supposed to be given to you". I explained to her that she may want to check the U&S policy because that IS how it works. Why else would they have a book of coupons. If it were only a Customer Service transaction they would just use a code, not a coupon. She said no, all the other stores are doing it wrong. The coupons were not to leave the customer service desk and wanted to see my receipt so she could call the other store and tell them to stop. I refused and asked for a manager. She called some random guy in a blue shirt (aren't mangers in Yellow shirts?) and he took her side. I said fine, just do the 2 movies I was missing and I kept my coupons (I wasn't going to let her get her hands on them. She probably would have taken the precious customer service only coupons). She then said if I don't like their policies I should just shop at the other Best Buy. I usually never do those CS surveys, but now I will. A horrible one for her and a great one for the Signal Hill employees who understand how this program works. The funny thing is I've gotten coupons from the Lakewood store before. Apparently she is the only CS who knows how to do it right then

Picked up 5 movies today. I think it's the most amount of Blu-rays I've purchased all year.
Of course they were all the Warner Triple packs so Ill be selling off my individual Blu-rays (and some HD DVDs). Such a great way to reduce shelf space.

Hoping we get some more good sale titles next week.
Yesterday I got Hugo 3D for $10 and Big Bang Theory Season 1 for $15 - I cannot for the life of my find my DVD copy of it, guessing I lent it out to someone. But I'm happy to the do the Blu upgrade on this and will probably do the same for Season 2 at some point. Been on BBT kick lately, most episodes have really held up well on a second or third viewing.
Today just Airplane for $5.

FYI, you can trade in those HD DVDs during U&S. It's confirmed on the BBY community forums. I got rid of all of mine (about 30) over the last few promotions.

I might for some. Last time it was a hassle because the BB reps were confused. But $5 for Swordfish isn't bad. Just not sure if there are any other movies I'd want.

Went back to Best Buy for Round Numero Two-O. The clerk at the CS desk gave my Red Ray copy of 300 the stink eye, but took it. She then held up my DVD of Showgirls.
"We can't take this."
"Why not? It's a legitimate film."
She points. "The cover says 'Must be an adult to view this movie'. We only accept family films."
"That's because it was rated NC-17 when it was released. It's a big-budget studio film, not pornography. You sell the Blu-Ray version in your store!"
She looks dubious, like I'm trying to run a scam.
"It's very close to the line." And then she took it.
They're shipping the discs to be destroyed; what do they care about the content?
Haul the Second:
Lawrence of Arabia
Star Trek: First Contact
Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek: The Search for Spock
The Eagle (the only title new to the collection; the rest were upgrades)

For those that like it, remember to pick up Jack Reacher, which comes out on 5/7/13 during this promo. It is $19.99 at Amazon so that should be where Best Buy at least starts. About time they broke the $20 mark again, too many new releases have been coming in over that.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save 4/21/13 - 5/11/13
Are the two Iron Man movies ringing up at 9.99 before coupon? The shelf tags at my closest store read 14.99 for each of them on Sunday. There were no weekly ads to be found in-store, so I would have nothing to help prove they should be 9.99. Every U&S transaction I've had has gone smoothly and I want to keep it that way so I didn't bother attempting a purchase today. Thanks in advance to anyone who can confirm a 9.99 sale price.
