What about those who never picked up the first release? I would think $15 - $20 for 4 movies plus $10 in movie cash is a pretty damn good deal.

Go ahead and let Fox have a laugh at your expense. 25 th anniversary of 'Die Hard' and they don't even release a remastered version. its an insult to bluray to own this piece of garbage. F Fox

Yep, it's a "pretty good deal" for Fox, alright! Demand more. Such a classic franchise as DIE HARD deserved so much more for a 25th Anniversary edition.

Even though its a bit hijacking of the thread, I do have to agree. I see no reason yet (until they get it right) to upgrade from my 5 star collection of the first three and my unrated cut of the last one. Until they get their head out of their ass in making a correct Die Hard collection, I'm not interested.

Edit: Seems to be a YMMV situation regarding in-store pricing. There have been reports over at blu-ray.com that this set has rung up for $39.99, $29.99 and $19.99. If it rings up higher than $19.99, have them look it up at their kiosk and they should adjust the price.

I found one just now for $19.99 and used U & S to bring it to $14.99. It has $10.00 movie cash, so I can justify spending essentially $4.99 for a repackaging.

I am assuming the only difference between this 25th anniversary and the older 4-movie collection is the bonus disc. I got the old one years ago for $25. So I am not surprised at the 19.99 price - since they will soon come out with another "complete edition" which will include With A Good Day to Die Hard.

The Best Buy website and Amazon still show the $19.99 price. It you don't have the older collection this should be worth it.

While I can't comment much on the transfer quality, what pissed me off is Die Hard 2's opening Fox fanfare has been replaced with the newer CG version. However, the famous "stretched" opening at the beginning of the first movie which was 'corrected' on the last DVD isn't corrected here- supposedly that's how it was theatrically (my D-VHS version has it that way too.)

The Die Hard Legacy Collection. I don't know if it was a retailer exclusive or had already gone out of print, but I know I saw it in stores somehow just a few weeks ago.
