Oh great, digibooks on Thursday. Depending on price, some of those may be hard to resist.

Thanks.

I have been waiting on A Streetcar Named Desire to hit a decent price. I will definitely be checking that out.

On the main Holiday Deals page it mentions several deal days, with 12/3 (Monday) as Movies & TV day. (Click the ubiquitous Top Holiday Deals banners--I can't provide links yet.)

So hopefully there will be some good Gold Box-type deals tomorrow.

They're using the World at War picture for Horatio Hornblower. Bad code-copy-paste.

I'll check out the deals but am not expecting anything earthshaking.

The Universe Mega set BD was 53.99 last week (I think it was around the same price last year). Maybe they will add the BD on 12/9 for a discounted price.

I suppose if you're just now buying Blu-rays, the Universal Mega BD set would be a deal. I wish Amazon would bring back the B1G1 type deals we saw in the HD DVD days. Would make buying much more convenient for each customer.

I hope it's not cheaper than the lightning deal I bought it at last week.

Maybe some of the anime will be a good deal, but come on guys, admit it: you're stoked for those Golden Girls seasons.

In the Gold Box today is Downton Abbey Seasons 1 and 2 at $25.99.

Also, The World at War BD set is $39.49. (Warning to those not aware: aspect ratio has been altered from the original television screenings).

I really hope Streetcar Named Desire is one of the digibooks, I've been waiting for a decent price on it for a while.

They make a strong case in the Making-of documentary for why they went with the 16:9 aspect. I have a lot of respect that they addressed this issue, and it rarely bothered me personally. Much better this way, than a bunch of clue-less high school teachers showing this in their classrooms sstttrrreeetttccchhheeeddd to fit their fancy TV's (gee, wasn't Churchill tubby...and Roosevelt didn't look so bad during those last days, did he?).

Both of these are in my cart now, both strong wants, and at prices I would have jumped on a couple months ago. But I ordered so darn much last month, and am years behind in watching everything. I guess a couple years from now both items will be found at these prices or even less. I guess I could be patient.......

Tempted by Downton Abbey since I was thinking of finally watching it this holiday season. But I had been planning to just stream in on Prime and still might.

I just DVRed it during the original OTA broadcast. Even over mountain repeaters our "Rocky Mountain PBS" broadcasts in High Def and the PQ is outstanding!

I don't think Meet Me In St Louis has ever been available at a decent price since it was released a year ago. Hoping the digibooks are a fantastic price.

Remember the How The West Was Won set is the only one with the Smilebox version of the film.

PAPILLON never seems to go down in price either. As for a non-digibook, the Brando MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY is rarely reduced.

I almost got Deliverance the other day. I might go for it if it's one of the sale titles. (It currently shows up in the links).

Ditto the interest in Streetcar and St. Louis. I might be going for those as well.

The first BD I ever bought (although not the first I watched, probably the second though).

Personally, I love the Smilebox version. I watched both versions when I got this set, but I don't think I'll go back to the regular letterbox again.
