Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule

Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

Keep in mind that if it says the store is out of stock, it just means there's less than 3 on hand. It doesn't necessarily mean it's actually out of stock.

Amazon lowered the price on Heavenly Creatures from $6.96 to $6.19. I ended up getting it.

Own them all but geez there is no point in buying anything anymore until it's dirt cheap. I was happy to get all three for ten bucks each.

While I'll agree it's nice to get stuff cheap during Holiday sales, you can't look at it that way. If you enjoy the movie, game or whatever enough to get it and think the price is reasonable for whatever time you choose to get, then you should get it. Stuff goes on sale on and off throughout the year, IMO you should never 2nd guess your purchase from earlier.

I bought Looper when it first came out. I hated the other two, so no biggie.

Agreed--if you want something and it's a fair price, get it. Yes, you can always wait for a better deal and you'll most likely be rewarded (heck, I even got a good deal on Star Trek TOS BD!), but you could be enjoying it in the meantime. Of course, if it's just going to go into your large unwatched pile, then go ahead and wait.

Basically price-matching Best Buy...after the fact. Haven't bought a single movie from Amazon during the holidays, which is rare for me.

Thanks. Even thought the quality of the show took a bit of a nosedive toward the end, I'm tempted by this to complete the series.

I picked up a few at 4.99. I'm sure they will be 3.99 sometime soon

Seriously, I rarely pay more than 4.99 for any non-exclusive, non-3D, non-Disney title. The only thing I've bought that I can remember that was significantly over 5 bucks (meaning more than a buck) is The Conjuring. But that's only because I really wanted to see it --- and I only paid 7.99.

Patience is the friend of the bargain-hunter. It also helps I'm too old to care about having to see movies immediately. haven't been REALLY excited to see a move since the first Spider-man movie. My nephew has to have movies Day 1 and ended up paying almost 30 bucks for the Conjuring.

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

^ I'm OK with paying 8 bucks for standard releases, but I definitely don't buy anything on release day anymore, unless it has a bonus disc or a "must have" exclusive. 3D titles I want for $15 or less, unless it's Disney, then slightly more.

It's sad that some of the super bargains from Black Friday could suddenly be had for less. I never imagined some of these titles would be 5 bucks this quickly... Thanks to extended return policies, it is easier to achieve that lower price...

Truer words have never been spoken. Once you build up a sizable collection, it largely eliminates the need to rush out and buy movies upon release when they are overpriced.

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I already saw all those $4.99 movies with various free streaming rentals and realized I really wouldn't care to watch any of them again, so even for less than $5, I still won't get them. (New year's resolution to stop buying any more DVDs than absolutely necessary working so far!)

It's taken me 9 years to realize this and now I'm as patient as can be.

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I'm trying to do that with TV. If it's a show I watch regularly on TV week to week and I like enough to want to own, I'll wait for a price drop, usually $19.99 or less. Not going to pay 35-45 dollars for something I just saw less than 6 months ago. Chances are I won't re-visit it again anytime soon anyways. I just bought The Office season 9 from Amazon last night for $19.99 to complete my collection.

A few other shows I picked up recently on Amazon deals:

Person of Interest season 2 $19.99
Parks and Recreation $19.99
Nikita season 3...although I paid $26.49 for this. But, I sold the UV code for $6.50, so it dropped my out of pocket cost to $19.99
The Mentalist season 5 for $9.99 during the Amazon Lightning deals
