Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

What I want to know is when Amazon will pricematch either the 29.99 target or 34.99 best buy Dexter S7 Blu-ray prices. I have lots of Amazon credit and would prefer to eat away at that rather than pay cash out.

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Dexter: The Complete Seventh Season is listed at $29.99 so they're matching Best Buy. I had my order placed back in April when it was still $44.99 and it hasn't been adjusted yet. Hopefully it will be soon.

Looks like that Star Trek set is down to $35.07, which according to the camel is a few cents off its all-time low.

Bertolucci's 1900 is down to $10 - $11 (depending on new or used). Wish the documentary from the DVD had been ported over...

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Anyone familiar with the current deal of the day titles? I'm thinking of making a blind buy on these. The only titles I am vaguely familiar with is Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away but for some reason they are not available in blu-ray.

These are Japanese made cartoons right? Would kids ages 8-10 enjoy them or are they more for adults?

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Ghibli films have had a slow roll-out on BD in the U.S. My Neighbor Totoro (not included in this sale) and Kiki's Delivery Service are two of the great family films of this generation, in my opinion. Spirited Away is also a great family film but can be scary for younger kids. Ponyo, Whisper of the Heart, and The Cat Returns are safer and very appealing, as is Arrietty, though reviews for that were a little mixed (I liked it but thought it didn't have quite the fantastic elements of other Ghibil films). Castle in the Sky, Nausicaa, and Mononoke are all worth seeing but have violence so it depends on the kid.

I believe I own almost all of these except for the BD versions of Castle and Nausicaa, Porco Rosso, Yamadas, and Pom Poko.

Thanks, I went ahead & ordered it.

Warning: Kiki's Delivery Service looks like a blu-ray due to the blue border on the packaging but is actually only a DVD.

They are almost entirely made for family entertainment, in the classic animated Disney sense. There is a reason why Disney decided to license most of the Studio Ghibli movies for U.S. release. Studio Ghibli is doing classic Disney these days better than Disney themselves. They will appeal to both boys and girls.

Finally picked up "Castles in the Sky" and "Whispers of the Heart".

I would have just gotten one if one of the traders here had not stiffed me.

You should consider a Disney Movie Club membership. I got both of these titles as enrollment selections and the average cost per title ends up being around $8.

You have to phone in your enrollment. Disney is very lax about enrollment selections when you order by phone.
