Wow, I lucked out. I just bought Manhattan [Blu-ray] (1979) for $10.49 a little while ago. Immediately after submitting the order, I did a quick search for other Woody Allen movies and, in the search results, "Manhattan" was listed as costing $16.99. I double-checked and, yep, the price apparently had jumped up to $16.99 within less than a minute of me submitting my order. Talk about barely getting in under the wire!

I am pretty sure The Lookout has the correct AR and looks quite good, but The Yards is definitely cropped on the individual release.
Don't know if there any changes on the double-feature release.

As this is Amazon related, I hope it's OK to post here.
I just found out Amazon started charging sales tax in my state in 2013. I didn't know because I hadn't ordered anything so far this year. I knew this was going to happen, but I was shocked to be told by an Amazon CS rep that all preorders I placed in 2012 prior to the sales tax date would be charged sales tax when they ship even though the preorders show no sales tax now.
Has anyone else been in the same situation with existing preorders from before Amazon started charging sales tax in your state, and if so did you get charged sales tax when your preorder shipped after sales tax went into effect?
I had assumed my preorders would remain at the original prices without sales tax and only future orders would be affected.

Gotcha. I took it to mean that he thought it was quick that the price dropped to 14.99, since I hadn't seen the earlier post where it was listed at 7.88. The wording of his post was kinda vague.

I got the Prophecy Collection for $7.99 (not yet opened) and was wondering if there would be any reason to return it to get the 2 disc set for $5 in terms of better picture or audio quality or special features on the first 2 movies. They later came out with all 5 movies in one set. All they did was take the 2-disc set and added a 3rd disc with part 2.

I thought I read (on the Amazon user reviews) that the Prophecy collection parts 1,3,4,5 are on 1 BD-50 and part 2 is on 1 BD-25. Regardless, you and PhantomStranger seem certain they are the exact same transfers/content/video/audio quality between the various sets... just rearranged differently on disc. In that case, I guess I'll stick with the 1-5 collection for $3 more than the parts 1 & 2 pack (even though I haven't seen any of them yet). Thanks.
