In case this hasn't popped up yet, the first 45 Poirot adventures, Agatha Christie's Poirot: The Early Cases [Blu-ray] (1989), are only $85; 13 disks. That includes the first batches of movie-length shows and all the short shows. I'd be all over this if I hadn't bought four of the first five sets that came out earlier this year. The Blu Rays are a significant upgrade over the badly transferred old DVD issues of a decade ago.

Was glad to see a semi-decent price on this one: Harvey BD/DVD/DC, which has been sitting in my cart for many weeks, and which I actually ordered when it was $15.49, but cancelled before it shipped.
The current price of $12.99 is good enough for me on this James Stewart classic. |

I've been thinking about the Daimajin set for $9.49...but remember getting burned on the Gamera films last year (huge price drops about a month or two after they were released). Anyone's Spidey Sense another price drop before the end of the year? ---Peter

Dr. Strangelove dropped to $9.99 and I picked it up. It should be a digibook. I've never seen it in a regular blu ray case.

Robert Harris commented that the image on disc is actually quite good on this one.
For the five bucks or so I paid, I got a movie I didn't think I'd see on BD in better than acceptable quality, and a second flick as a "bonus feature." Based on this I'd take a chance on one of their discs again, if they release a film I really want. |
