Wow, I must have looked directly at it at least 4 or 5 times.

Thanks.

What a bunch of crap! Most of the titles are years old - and more than half are DVD versions. I haven't been this disappointed since the premiere of Phantom Menace.

I'm gonna shoot for Brave and The Abbott and Costello Show (been putting that one off for a while), but that's about it. Honestly, I'm kinda glad it's a week sale since I need to save some money.

^ could be surprise lightning deals or be matched to BB when they go on sale there.

Same here. I did a quick scan of the titles and can't recall a single title that stood out as a must buy for me.

Part of the problem is about half of the offers are DVDs only (such as Big Bang Theory) which eliminates those. Another fair portion has the 2D BDs on sale only when I want the 3D BDs. The other dirt cheap BDs ($5 or less) are ones that I bought ages ago between $7-$10. It's funny and ironic that after I was finally able to sign up for a 1 month Prime trial this BF that I doubt I'll use it much, if at all. Last year when I didn't have it I bought at least a dozen things during the lightning deals and it was painful having to find $25 worth each time before the deal expired in my cart.

The console game deals aren't much better. Maybe when I have more time to go through the list methodically I might find a few items I'll buy, but on the surface (in the voice of the Comic Book Guy): this Amazon sale is "worst BF week sale ever". This sale definitely sucks compared to last year's, but at least that'll let me concentrate on other things.

Yeah, in the past, they simply match the BB and Walmart prices at the time they're active, and don't necessarily list them as Lightning Deals.

I sort of remember when they started doing this "lightning deal" business for Black Friday that they mostly listed the Best Buy Black Friday deals this way, spread out across the week so people couldn't stack them up using free shipping without ordering more to hit the $25 mark or purchasing a Prime sub.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.

I hope that's not all the DVDs/Blu-rays they're planning on putting on their Black Friday sale, I only see 2 of the ones I want throughout the entire week (otherwise a lame-assed sale as far as I'm concerned). I don't want to stand in line at Best Buy, but if this is all Amazon is going to do, I might as well get ready to go to Walmart/Target (and maybe Kmart) at 8pm on Thursday and be at Best Buy early Friday (because there's no way in hell I'll be there at midnight). -kd5-

Some of you are freaking out over nothing. Like Sotra and Todd B. said they have matched Best Buy and Walmart prices over the course of the week, but they're just not lightning deals.

In for Brave and Tintin. That's about it. Maybe next year for Mad Men S5.

Was Mad Men part of the calendar last year? Fuck. I really waited for MM.

I will get Brave, Fast Five, Last of the Mohicans, and Tin Tin for sure. They have Brave on their twice. The 22nd and the 26th. So I guess we've two chances on that one.

That's what I'm saying. If those were matched I could probably stay home.

I wish someone had a decent sale on some Disney blus. Want to get Pocahontas, Rescuers, Treasure Planet, & Great Mouse Detective for the kiddos. In the past you could get one of those for $10 to $15. Oh well...

I certainly hope so. I'm looking forward to getting a few BDs and not having to fight with the crowds to get them. -kd5-

Why not join Disney Movie Club and get those? You can call the order in and if they turn down any of your titles just keep trying. I got the first 3 and others have gotten Great Mouse Detective. You have 2 years to purchase 2 titles. The code for this promo is in 1st thread. More info here: 9 Disney blu's for $89.70 (avg $9.96 each) at DisneyBluRayClub.com. Note the average is even cheaper when you order special features of the month. This month's feature for me was: Santa Paw's 2/Prep & Landing/Tigger Movie all for $43.95 shipped.

Yawn. Also, strangely, The extended LOTR trilogy was cheaper the other day than it will be when it's on sale.

True. There have always been other price drops during the week, that aren't part of this calendar. I would bet I buy more titles that way than I ever do on the lightning deals.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.

Like most only see a couple things that interest me at least a little. I know last year I got a few things from them once they matched the brick and mortar retailers late Thanksgiving night and on Friday. Guess it will just be a wait and see.

Though I would rather put any extra money towards either a tablet and/or a new tv for my bedroom if there aren't any great surprise lightning deals or any other prices that are just too good to pass up

Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.

The Abbott & Costello Set was $19.99 last year on 12/16/2010 - must have been a lightning or daily deal; looks like regular price at the time was $25.99. --Peter
