47% off Today only. I guess it's the best price so far but I haven't been tracking it.

Lawrence of Arabia is one of my favorite films and one that I would want to have on Blu ray, but $49 is way over-priced.

This is the big box set. You can get a blu ray of the movie alone for under $19 currently.

$24.99 is the sweet price point...don't mind waiting, don't like price gouging

It's great that you can wait. I almost never can for something I want. I guess I am their target consumer.

Yeah. My immediate is to buy buy buy for this one...but...I need it to be cheaper. This whole Amazon Texas tax thing has affected my buying by...a lot. Tax, man...shit adds up. If it can go the $24.99 route. I'm there.

You never know what Amazon will during Black Friday week. If it doesn't make $24.99 this year, maybe it will next year or the year after that. The Sound of Music box set went down to $19.99 this year at Costco I ,for one, will be disappointed if Amazon doesn't have the latest season of Mad Men in blu for $8.99 like they have had for the last two years.

Yeah. I have MM S1-S3 on BD from BF of 2010. Didn't have money last year so that sale I had to skip. I have money this year so...I'm for sure getting those sets for that price.

Robert Harris has cautioned that this box set is a truly limited edition. Who knows? Wish I hadn't waited to get the Universal Monsters Ltd. Edition Coffin.

Movie studios don't make anything limited anymore. They wanna be sure everyone gets ripped off. In any case, my wallet is truly limited.

The Casablanca Limited Collector's edition from a couple of days ago (Bestbuy and Amazon) was supposed to be 'limited' to 50000 copies. Guess what the number was on the one I got from Amazon: xxxxx of 81000 !! so much for that initial 50000 copies claim...c'mon, they got to keep fleecing the public, its their business. If it doesn't sell well, they won't print anymore..if they sell well, do you think they will stop there ?

Do such box sets come down significantly in price on Black Friday so soon after the release date?

If the third disc was available in the disc-only set, I'd get that, but I would like to have those other extras.

It's not uncommon for a set like this to hit the ~$30 range. Sound Of Music, Ten Commandments, and others have been half or 1/3 of their MSRP.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's $30 by BF. While this movie is a cinephile fave, we are a limited group. The "Avengers" crowd probably doesn't want a big box of Lawrence stuff.

I wouldn't want a big box either if I could get all the discs in a smaller package. Was hoping there would be a Digibook exclusive somewhere.

This is Sony, I'm not sure we'll get a digibook of this one.

It will be about $57 at Costco tomorrow. Someone took a picture on another site. Prices do go down. It sounds like from the comments on this site that people are willing to wait. That is all that is necessary. I think this is the first big box from Sony/Columbia. All the others I can think of were Warner (most), Fox, and Paramount. Singin' in the Rain hasn't dropped in price yet. I think that would be the most likely to have a deal,on Black Friday as its been a few months and seems to have disappeared from Costco .

I think that Costco price will be good enough for me as a Christmas present for myself.

So as far as we know none of the usual suspects, Target, Best Buy , or Wal Mart have exclusive packaging for this set.
