Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

My local Dollar Tree restocked. Mostly DVDs. I picked up Command Performance/Direct Contact double feature blu ray, Vera Drake DVD, Bronson DVD and Iron Man Armored Adventures DVD.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

My local store had a sign up and a full display. All DVDs. And it seemed like dozens of the same few weak titles.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Front display filled again today. 98% DVDs (nothing exciting) and about a half dozen copies of Moonwalkers on BD.

My stores had multiple copies of Peace & Love on blu-ray, several copies of Lost City, and an insane amount of HDNet World Report Special: Shuttle Discovery's Historic Mission, both on HD DVD.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Reports of another big wave showing up this week at Dollar Trees. Presumedly these are Friday's Item of the week, so some stores won't put them out for a couple of days. Others are already finding them.

They've shown up at mine--not a bad selection at all. Here's what I saw:

The Oranges
The Fault in Our Stars
Bull Durham
Parental Guidance
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Zipper
Drumline
The Way Way Back
Dog Soldiers
Walking with Dinosaurs 3D
The Longest Week
Bubble
The Counselor
Joy
Don Jon
The King of Comedy
Mao's Last Dancer
The November Man
Bruno
Paper Towns
Movie 43
Charlie Countryman
Great Expectations

...and a few more that I can't recall. As always, the selection at your local store may and probably will vary.

Thanks for the list rbrown498.

I will be happy if my local store gets even half of those.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

I got the chance to visit two usually reliable locations when Blu-rays show up at Dollar Tree. I did catch new batches, but nothing like the reports I've seen of 20+ Blu-ray titles. One location literally had 30 copies of Sympathy For Delicious and that was it for BD. The other had a sprinkling of stuff seen in the last wave, including the Marine 4.

Mine had 12 copies of 'Command Performance', that's it. At least the love's shifted from Shia LeBouf to Dolph Lundgren

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

I went to my regular DT and they had a nice selection. Besides some of those mentioned, there was The Amazing Spider-Man (the sequel) 3D. The other two stores hadn't put any out.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Based on title alone, all that interests me is Bull Durham. I may have my memory jogged if I see the covers of some of the others.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Stopped in 3 Dollar Trees today, and 2 of them had the assortments.
I'd say they were about 50/50 DVD's and BluRays. Probably the most BluRays I've ever seen at Dollar Tree.

I grabbed:
Spy (Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham) BluRay
Zipper (Patrick Wilson, Lena Headey) BluRay w/slipcover
Hollow Point (Patrick Wilson, Ian McShane) DVD w/slipcover

I got the sole copy of each of these titles.
The DVD's were mostly the usual suspects: multiple copies of Beyond The Lights, Borat, and Speed Racer, etc.
The BluRays were a nicer surprise. Here's a sampling of some of the BluRays I saw:

I'd actually like to find Charlie Countryman- all the others I have on one format or another.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

I paid far more than $1 for a lot of those titles. I'm stopping by the two locations on my way home in hopes they will still have a copy of the few titles I don't already have on BD.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

This is the review for the Great Expectations seen in this wave at Dollar Tree.

http://doblu.com/2014/05/07/great-ex...lu-ray-review/

It's not as good as the Ethan Hawke adaptation.

The DT at Seal Beach and Westminster Blvd in SoCal had about 40 BD copies and perhaps an equal number of DVDs, as of this morning. Run like the wind, before they're all taken
