Intruders has a great horror vibe even if the series falls apart somewhat near the end.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Blu-rays (and dvds) were the the new item of the week at one of my local Dollar Trees. A second store I checked hadn't put them out yet.
I got Blu-ray's of The Road Warrior and the Lego Batman Movie among the movies (other pick-ups included Square Pegs (complete series), Species (blu-ray but old mgm release not new shout factory), London Spy (BBC series), Doctor Who (series 8, part 1), 15:17 to Paris (most others dvd's)
.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

I can check later, but know even if 1 store get any may not be all store get or not stocked all same time. and hope any not so picked over so atleast some good to get by chance.i can tell if many copies of one then it shows what traffic not care for and not sure many know of media at dt but guessing word gets around and media gets hit bigtime cause workers try score any and traffic just text and boom media is picked over like crazy lol. i have so much so far so if any i check and get any needs or wants besides media by chance. i have learned i gotta shop around for media cause even if gotta pay a tad more atleast i find good stuff since dt dont really get a lot of stuff u mite find elsewhere. but they do get some good stuff if u can get to it before resellers or scalpers do any.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

There were six white boxes full of black Friday Blu Rays and DVDs at my local Dollar Tree. Also found a hardcover copy of Donald Westlake's book "Forever and a Death" (Hard Case Crime un-filmed James Bond script). Dollar Tree exclusive "Final Faction" action figures and Hot Wheels 2020 Batplane and TMNT Party Wagon toys. The tool section has been restocked for holiday stocking stuffers, plus they have Clorox/Lysol disinfectant wipes (15 pack) and American Accessories Belts (various sizes).

Blu Ray:
Doctor Who Series Six, Part One
Earthquake
Superman 3
Jeepers Creepers
The Road Warrior

DVD:
Blade Runner The Final Cut
MST 3000: The Undead
Best Of The Equalizer

Sounds like this may have been their older stock, or maybe they just put out one box. My local DT had four boxes on their cart ready to go out sometime, 60 titles per box so that's now even a full box worth in your stores yet. My other local DT had their stuff out in the book section (though the boxes clearly read to be put on end caps) and it appeared to be a full 4 boxes worth although there appeared to be only 30 blu-rays total.

I bought on b-r: Purple Rain, The Green Lantern (2 disc), Twilight Before Dawn, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. - also ten dvds (listed on the Black Friday dvd thread). Most of the dvds were typically obscure titles one finds at DT although many of the B-Rs were major titles.

I do the same all the time, including when at charity shops. Just today I stopped at the local Catholic charity shop and they had a dvd of the Patsy Cline biopic SWEET DREAMS that I'd never seen anywhere but the line was too long and too slow so I just put it back. Dollar Tree is quite ridiculous about having only one cashier most of the time regardless how long the line is.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Local store had them out today. About 12 boxes (they're white) of 60 titles each. About 5 10 BluRay's per box. I was told they put them out yesterday, but thankfully even after a full day they weren't too picked over. Had to laugh - they had maybe a dozen BluRay copies of that awful 2017 CHIPS movie - and I'll be surprised if they can give those away.

I got:
BluRay
Poker Night
The Conjuring 2
BluRay + DVD
Paddington 2
DVD
Deep In The Valley

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Poker Night is a pretty great indie thriller. I watched it when it first came out five years ago.

OK, I gotta ask what the "Naked Commentary" is.

Went by a few stores today and none of them had any new stock, not like I needed any more anyways. The titles mentioned so far I already have or don't want.

I'll let You know after I watch it.
I'd been holding off on this DVD for ages, hoping for a Region A BluRay release.
That never happened and, at the $1 price point, I just had to.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Yea, i been to dt close by few days ago and no new stock, but line was long till they decided to open another checker lane to cut line in half. not sure why they wait for line to form to just open anotehr as if it wont grow. it just cause others to grab more i guess lol instead of wait in line any lol. try go thurs maybe even if got so many to watch already. so if any see what got hope before it picked over by traffic. but guess workers may always check before they really put any out or let those who call or connect to get first dibs get any. i just gotta hope for any worthy grab or i pretty much skip any no interest or not enough xtra on it i wanna see to waste buying any. but i do make sure to get any needs so not a wasted trip.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Hit a different store last night and found the huge display on an endcap. As I went through them, many of the boxes had the same content as others. However, the overall display seemed to vary quite a bit from the one I found the other day.

For example, I didn't see either of the 2 NFL Super Bowl BDs I mentioned last time. But there were copies of 2 NHL Stanley Cup BDs (2015/2018)

I might be motivated to check out another store or two tomorrow.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Went to 2 stores today. The first had no display at all. I asked an employee and she went to look and came out with 10 boxes on a dolly. She was going to have to clear some space to put them out so she invited me to go through them. I was super excited but there wasn't a great deal I hadn't seen before.

I bought:

Alan Partridge
The Baytown Outlaws
Purple Rain
2017 World Series (Astros) - had previously found this on DVD only

The 2nd store I visited had the display out. While it looked "full" from a distance, I think it had been picked through. There wasn't as many BDs as I'd seen in previous stores.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Had first dibs on 16 cases this morning as they were sitting on a dolly while an employee was clearing room on an endcap. Was able to check each case for BD's before she put them on the shelf.

My findings:
The Hangover (Steelbook)
The Ides of March (Canadian release w/slipcase)
Are You Here (Another one from the Great White North also with slip)
The Lego Ninjago Movie
The Good Lie
In Dubious Battle
Keanu
Going in Style
Live by Night

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

The locations near me actually waited until today to put out their boxes. From what I could tell, nothing much different than has been reported here and elsewhere. I did find a Justified: Season Three Blu-ray set. Far more DVDs than BDs in this batch.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

I had a little road trip to make yesterday and it was easy to stop by 5-6 stores without going much out of the way. One thing I determined is that these stores aren't well equipped or trained in putting out media in quantities like they received.

One store put them in the front display, But they obviously didn't fit, so there were boxes sitting all around the display on the ground. A couple of stores split them up in multiple locations. I found several boxes sitting in an aisle at one location. And I opened a couple boxes myself during my travels. The last store I visited had them stuffed on an endcap, but had taken them out of their boxes. It didn't take much effort to knock stuff on to the floor as you were browsing.

I picked up a few new-to-me titles as I went along. The most unique find of the day which I was pleased to buy was a single copy of Batman (the 20th anniversary digibook version of the '89 film).
