Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Been to my place like 2 or 3 different times and same crap lol. so i guess we got no new this wave since no front setup or new in tech area. they just shove out solar stuff and light bulbs any lol. but i do not waste trip and try score any worthy needs or go walmart and snag any worthwhile grabs for a tad more. besides other places got dvd on clearance or cheap. so i guess gotta wait for next wave and check anytime for any worthy gets any. i think to ask but just assume others have asked and already guess get picked over by workers any and who ever call to make arrangemnt to see box before traffic lol. seen videos how things go sometimes so i dont rush for media since already got so much already lol.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Stopped by a store in a neighboring town today. Went inside not expecting to find anything since the outside sign still had a picture of the Halloween lights as the weekly item. The front table was full and had many more things of interest than what I found last week. I bought the following on BD:

Chips
National Geographic: Great Migrations
Love the Coopers
The Return of the Living Dead
The Road Warrior
RocknRolla/Swordfish
Shark Week: Fins of Fury
War Dogs

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Remember to check the electronics section. One store I visited had only 1/2 the rack up front full. It looked like it might have been picked over. Went to the electronics section and saw more than would fit up front even if you front was empty.

I waited a couple days and found them today. A little picked over, though I did get a couple horror DVDs and Blu-rays for Christmas Village and The Belko Experiment. Christmas Village is one of those festive video loops made for holiday parties.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

I had to go after work on Friday, after 3pm, and they still hadn't put them out! I was waiting patiently for the guy to finish stocking them, and two people started looking in front of me. Still managed to get 30 titles, all but maybe 4 were horror. I'm sure at least half are losers, but I did watch an inspired slice of Australian lunacy called Sheborg.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Yea, my place has no basket kinda setup like above so it box or sideways or stacks any. and as news gets around about media u may find others by it or just getting otehr stuff but collectors and resellers by chance are try score any ahead of u anytime. i have scored some good anytime but other times since got so much already i just snag selective and leave rest. i just know cause another dam heatwave gotta snag a drink cause incase no new by chance cause we get skipped atleast it not wasted trip. we have had times of a lot boxes but picked over already by others no shock. but have scored some gold so to speak by chance.

If the store puts them out on the street date try again this Friday, Oct 2nd.
Why the suits at DT scheduled 2 straight weeks of media drops is anybody’s guess.

Found this out yesterday when I went to 1 DT that I know puts them on street date & boy, did they put out everything, like about 25 cases, marked either 9/25 or 10/02. Took over 1/2 hour to peruse all of them.

My pickups:

BD’s
Frank
Lady Antebellum: Own The Night WorldTour
Shadow Dancer
Platoon
A Golden Christmas
Danny Trejo Double Feature: Border Crisis/Cage of Doom
Mandrill
CBGB

DVD’s
The House Without a Christmas Tree
The Wannabe
Dead Man Down
Doctor Who: The Return of Doctor Mysterious
The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet: Best of Ricky & Dave (Shout Factory Release)
Purple Rain (Not Widescreen)
Distorted
Hello, My Name is Doris

Thanks for the heads up!

I should be headed through the area of that store on Friday, so I'll definitely stop by and check again.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Maybe it's just me but Dollar Tree seems busier than ever these days. I'll often find a Blu-ray or two I want, only to put it back when I see the lines are too long. If one store ever needed self-checkout, it's Dollar Tree.

That was my experience last time I was at a $T. I only had a couple items, & it wasn't worth the wait.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Saw the restock today. Store I went to had a metal roll table near the door - nearly full with about 100 DVD's and about 10 BluRays.
That elusive Barry Munday BluRay is still evading me, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find a lone copy of Passengers (2016)..

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Times have changed and as prices go up and traffic discover dt or 99 cent or others close to same kinda store that traffic start to shop the places more . not sure it cause the pandemic or cause youtubers post videos of what can be found at the stores anytime. and now if not already know that they get media since not sure when cause mine got cds before they moved to a new location that was like bigger in a way cause use to be wherehouse then fye and no dt. and guess this time and age they are growing as to more locations with the main name and then have branched out with other labels or places they own now like a merge i guess. only really saw cds once but didnt know they sold movies till some years back. and now they get a mix of dvd and blu and by chance games and 4k any. some stores i see on video get a bunch of media while otehrs get some or none for any reason. they may have to add mre help if get more traffic but they try keep stuff cheap or gonna cost more for some stuff. i try get to place early if can cause they just get more traffic over time for any reason. so since pandemic, i go now maybe once week and be sure get mix of needs and wants anytime now. i try get combo blu ray with dvd and more but if i dont get to place early as they ar stocked then they picked over by workers or others and any combo are gone, but have seen blu rays sometime with 1 or more movies but no blu ray player till later. might even start get bray since so cheap so got to watch when get a new bray box lol. should have thought of that way back cause may have scored alot upgrades lol. but for now get dvd and bluray combos if can at time.

Going In Style
Tell
We The Party
The Bang Bang Club
The Benefactor
The Dead Lands
Drinking Buddies

I just watched Tell and really liked it. Jason Lee plays just crazy enough, and Katie is pretty wearing skin tight clothes the entire time, which is fantastic.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Hit the local store today. While I think the current batch has been out for awhile, they had a ton. The only blu-ray I recognised was the original Road Warrior (a film I don't like).

Blind buys:
Blu:
Drinking Buddies
Killer Klowns From Outer Space (Remake)
Indubious Battle
CBGB
Happy Feet (Not a blind buy, but only got it due to the price)

DVD:
Great World Of Sound
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (Remake)
Crazy Love

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Stopped by a few stores while travelling yesterday when I noticed the BD/DVD sign on the front window. The only BD which I found, and went ahead and bought was a documentary called The Great Flip--Off. Otherwise, some leftover DVDs. Nothing too exciting, though I did also buy the 1st season of the BBC show Intruders.
