Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
As of last Sunday, no Blu-Rays at either of the 2 Dollar Trees near me, but one of the stores had 8-packs of fun-size Baby Ruths for $1. Normally you only get 6, but these specially marked packs had 2 bonus ones. I bought a couple, pretending that I was going to save them til Halloween. I'm halfway through the first pack. They are not stale or old at all.

The perfect crime! :)

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
I'm too busy eating the $1 ice cream to look for blu-rays.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
Stopped in to my local Dollar Tree to grab something else and was surprised to see 3 Blu Rays. 2 copies of the Longest Ride and 1 copy of Is Anybody There? (Michael Caine movie). I grabbed 1 of each.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
Finally found some stuff worth getting, after several failed efforts: Walter Mitty; Blackthorn; Grand Piano; Hoosiers; and Lost World ("previously enjoyed" DVD).

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
Heads up... I stopped at a DT today and there was a new shipment of BD's in the electronics aisle. Mostly Fox / MGM titles and some reruns from the last sale (Taken 3, Before I Go To Sleep).
Picked up The November Man BD/DC, Paranoia (2013) BD/DVD/DC and Rio 2 3-D BD/BD/DVD/DC. There were multiples of the Rio 2 3-D available. Also picked up something called Jules Verne Adventures Into The Blue Planet for the case (it's a 4 disc BD set). But, it's narrated by Christopher Lee and clocks in at 8 hours so I might give it a spin. Fargo was the best movie in the lot... The old BD, not the remaster. |

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
Only blus at my store were 5 copies of Robocop and 1 copy of Mirror Mirror.
|
Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
I go by 2 Dollar Trees to and from work now, so will take a look. Already have both Rio movies in 3D, gotta watch them together soon.

I assume if Rio 2 is a 2 blu set, 1 disc is regular 2d. It that correct?

That is what I saw just this weekend at one location.

Supposedly the new Blu-ray lot is for this upcoming weekend at most locations.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
DT plays with my emotions again. Went by my location this evening and park right in front of the entrance. For the 2nd time in a row, I can tell as I enter that the front display is packed with new titles that have been barely touched. Upon closer look, I realize half the display is the same Jillian DVDs that didn't sell earlier.
Of all the new stuff, there were probably 30 BDs. They consisted of several copies of: Robocop (1987) Ghost Rider Baggage Claim Space Warriors Already have the first one and there was no way I was wasting even a buck on the others. Did glance quickly at some of the DVDs and picked up the Dog Whisperer (Season 4, Volume 1) There was only a single copy. I've never seen it, but I bet my kids will enjoy it. Also picked up an HBO baseball film/doc, Reverse of the Curse of the Bambino. The only other noteworthy item on DVD was several copies of the first season of The Soul Man. Overall, a letdown. But I have to wonder if they couldn't put everything out since the display still had all those exercise DVDs. I might go back in a day or two and ask. |
Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
The only thing I've seen mentioned of any interest to me is Rio 2. And that's not a must own for me by any means.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
Stopped by Dollar tree and they had just finished loading the table.
I was told that I just missed the kill bills? |
Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
Went by a 2nd location. Display had been out for a bit the way it looked. A handful of BDs still left. A few copies of Baggage Claim and Foxcatcher.
Happy about the latter since I've never see it. |
Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
I saw 2 stores (and heard about a third) where it appears that the only BD in the shipment is Standing Up. Hopefully I'm wrong and/or it's not widespread, but I thought I'd mention it in case.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
Wow, our Dollar Tree has NEVER received discs. Ever.
|
Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
Local DT is 80% picked out. They said they put out the display today..... Nothing left I even wanted to spend $1 on. Sadly, I drove by there earlier & didn't think to stop. Probably the best titles I saw were dvd's of Shanghai Surprise & I Am Legend (Will Smith).
|
Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
The one bluray amidst the DVDs at my local DT was about twelve copies of a Bruce Lee double feature from Shout!, -"Fists of Fury/Big Boss".
|
Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!
Picked up Taken 3, Enough Said and Chasing Mavericks on BD today. They also had a bunch of other BD's and dvds in the bin at the front entrance of the store. I hadn't heard of most of them so I passed. I did see but already owned Fargo, The November Man, Taken 2, Rio 2 3D and Thunder and the House of Magic 3D.
