The Stargate Atlantis Blu-rays were all tagged and marked $19.99 at my local BB.

Note that the entire Box set is currently $90 at Amazon, making it slightly cheaper than buying all 5 sets separately. (Though with the $10 or $25 GC, it may make up the difference).

Interesting. Why did BB advertise them for $24.99 then? Is this a 1-day "glitch" discount or will they be $19.99 online and at all BB stores the whole week?

I've heard good things about Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis but to this day I've never seen even 1 second of any episode of either, and I guess the only way to do that is to sign up for Netflix? However I remember hearing a rumor that Netflix pulled 1 or both of those from their streaming recently. Does anyone with Netflix know?

One could order all 5 season BDs for ISP and get a $25 GC plus a $10 digital coupon. That seems better than buying the box set for $90 at Amazon. If only I knew I'd like the entire series enough to buy it. Can you enjoy/follow Atlantis without having seen SG-1 first?

I picked up the Terminator set, and its very nice. The face is embossed and metallic, and overall the set is heavy and well put together. Here are some quick pics:

SG-1 and SG-Atlantis are gone from Netflix streaming. Stargate Universe is still there (and 'Stargate: The Ark of Truth' and 'Stargate Continuum').

Amazon Instant Video has them. (free if you have Prime)

SG-1 is the better show, but I don't think you'd be lost jumping into Atlantis. It was pretty much it's own thing. There are some crossover characters(mainly Captain/General Carter), but I'm sure you can figure things out.

Yes I did. The $10 gift card came up on the register before the coupon was scanned. Also happy to say that OUAT comes with the $10 off coupon for ABC TV new releases. Good until 12/31/12.

Yeah, I got that deal too. OUAT + Homeland + $10 GC for $55 including tax. Pretty good deal, since the sticker prices of the two sets are $52.99 and $44.99 respectively.
Looking forward to watching Homeland -- a blind buy I've heard great things about.

Be careful if you're picking up the Battleship BD/DVD with the exclusive disc. Some of the combos have it (indicated by a sticker on the slip cover) and some don't.

What's the deal with this Avengers pre-order that some of you have mentioned? I don't see anything in the ad about it.

Best Buy will have an exclusive Viva Metal Box available when you pre-order Marvel's The Avengers starting 8/28 through 9/24/2012. The Pre-Order costs $7.50 and you receive your Free Viva Metal Box that day. You can return on 9/25 with your receipt and pick up your pre-order and the $7.50 will come off the total price.

http://blurayexclusives.blogspot.com...exclusive.html

It is not in the ad,and I didn't see it on their website.Like the
Cinderella (Collectible Case) one can be bought for $7.50 + free shipping.

From what I read yesterday. Not every Best buy had them out.
As a different company stocks the media section to make matters worse.
Or they just sold out fast.Scalpers are buying these up and trying to sell them on Ebay etc.
If you really want one. I would call or show up at your local BB 1st thing when they open up.

Here is the SKU: 6316045

The Avengers case was on a endcap with the DVDs and Blus of the Avengers Universe movies. In my local store, the endcap was on the end of an aisle facing the car audio department, close to the registers.

Having so few of these, it sounds like a ploy to get people into the stores. Fuck that.

Re: Best Buy Ad 08/26 - 09/01/12

Anyone get Once upon a time at Target? I blindbought it there and noticed the UPC sticker is slightly different than at Walmart, Best Buy etc. In the weekly Target ad it says they have an exclusive cast Q&A, but there was no stickers indicating so on the cover (Homeland and Sons of Anarchy had exclusives indicated on the front). So, anyone see stickers on OuaT DVD or BD (that I got) and opened it to see if there was an exclusive? Thanks! I'll wait and open it when I find out.

I didn't buy it at Target, but when I was there, for the DVD version, I saw both a version without the exclusive and an exclusive one with the bonus dvd shrinkwrapped to it. The exclusive had a different looking outer sleeve on it. I wasn't buying the Blu-ray, so I'm not sure if the exclusive had different packaging a la the DVD version.

Thanks for the info! Not at my local Target unfortunately. Got a reply in the Target thread too and apparently the BD has a different slipcover and the exclusive is an edited Q&A from comic con I believe. Apparently it is available (unedited) on Hulu.

Of course it is. Considering BB just reported a near-90% drop in profits, I'm expecting to see ads that offer a free BJ with purchase of anything.

Finally, a reason to buy in-store versus online! Virtual BJ's just aren't the same...

Re: Best Buy Ad 08/26 - 09/01/12

Thinking about doubledipping on that Terminator set even though all 5 discs are the same that I already have, but I would only consider it if I could do the $50+ pickup (pair it with LBP2 SE PS3 - $20). Now I know today is the last day for the pickup promo, but anyone know if you have to pick it up today? Or can you order today and pick it up some other day and still get the $10?

Re: Best Buy Ad 08/26 - 09/01/12

This is what it says for the promo, but not sure still....

Free $10 Savings Code

Spend $50 or more on movies, music or video game software, choose store pickup, and get a $10 savings code.

Place a movie, music or video game software order of $50 or more between Sunday, June 17, and Friday, August 31 — and use store pickup.
The savings code will be e-mailed up to 5 days after you pick up your order.
Redeem your savings code in store or online.
Note: Not all products are available for store pickup.
Valid on individual online purchases made between 6/17/12 and 8/31/12. Excludes purchases of PC and pre-owned games, video game accessories, video game hardware, and Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network, PlayStation Plus, CinemaNow, iTunes® and online game cards. Eligible pre-orders must be placed and fulfilled during promotion. Savings Codes expire as follows: For June in-store pickups — 7/31; July in-store pickups — 8/31; and August in-store pickups — 9/30.

Sotra, it would be risky not to pick up your order tomorrow because we don't know how their system is programmed. You don't get the code until roughly 2 days after you pick it up, and if you wait until after 8/31 the system might not send it to you and they could say that it's your pickup date rather than order date that counts. Basically there's no way to be sure, and I doubt anyone at BB or their toll free number would know (even if they say they do know).

So, to be safe you should pick up on 8/31/12. Otherwise you're rolling the dice. I spent a good 30+ minutes trying to find something else I want to order over $50 for in-store pickup tomorrow (since I have to go to the mall anyway), but there just isn't anything else. Even if I returned and rebought OUTA S1 BD (the only thing I bought this week), I'd still have to find something I want >= $10.01 which I haven't been able to do. People are talking about tons of series, but I've never seen Walking Dead, Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, or Sons of Anarchy, and I don't have Amazon Prime or Netflix to stream them. The only 1 I was willing to blind buy was OUTA due to all of the rave reviews.
