The goHastings in Denton, TX is closing

Simular to Blockbuster, they have a sign out that reads, everything must go.

Everything, including candy and snacks are on sale. I only checked out the BDs.

Previously viewed BDs are $4.99 each.
Used BDs are 30% off and new ones are 10% off.

I asked why they were closing and the cashier said that their lease had run out. And that they are not relocating.

Wow. That's so sad. I went to college there and can't tell you how many times I went to that location. I was actually planning a trip up there for other reasons but wanted to see if I had the time to go by there for a little piece of my college youth. You think they get a ton of business from the college crowd, but I guess not enough.

I was in Denton yesterday! I wish I had stopped by Hastings. Oh well, maybe I'll make another trip out there. I went to UNT for a few semesters, and I had a lot of fun when I was there.

Darkhawk, do you mean used DVDs are $4.99 each?

I only checked out the Blu-rays.

They had a separate shelf that had Blu-rays for $4.99. It was blu-rays that they rented out from their store. Blu-rays that people traded/sold is on a different shelf 30% off.

Went today. The Blu-Rays looked pretty picked over, though there were a lot of DVDs and CDs.

I bought:

Synecdoche, New York (Blu-Ray)
Kids in the Hall: Death Comes to Town (DVD)
Lenny Bruce: Without Tear (DVD)
Patrice O Neal: Elephant in the Room (DVD)

A little over $17 total.
