I don't think they will let you get the double-whammy since in-store pick-up is still technically an online transaction, and the upgrade coupons are in-store only. If they do, I would think it's a major YMMV. Worth a shot though!

Just saw that Best Buy will be selling the new Blu-Ray of "Total Recall" for $9.99 on release day (7/31), so I'm planning to take a coupon for $5 off.

Maybe I'll trade in my original BD of Total Recall.

Is there a new transfer of the old Total Recall? (EDIT: Yep.)

Went to Dollar Tree and bought another 30 DVDs for $6.68. Now I've got a stash for the next times BB does this deal. Whoop whoop! Five of them scanned for a penny. I'll have to see which ones they were.

the numnuts over at the Tenleytown (DC) store were truly clueless about this - and the selection was piss-poor. Today's venture out to Tysons Corner was flawless compared to yesterday's shopping experience. For some reason I thought 'Super 8' was 9.99 but it's 7.99 (it's still a good price, but I was hoping to drop it down to 4.99 - oh well).

Anyone have luck trading in HD-DVD's? A cashier at one store the other day told me that they don't accept them- but there's quite a few Best Buys around here I could try. I'm running out of DVD's I can trade in, and I'd really like to get rid of some HD-DVDs before trying to find .25 DVDs from a Dollar store.

I've had no issues trading in HD DVDs, during the Upgrade & Save promotions, at any Best Buys in my area.

I feel the same way. Although it pains me I might start trading in my initial releases of Farscape, since it is only a matter of time until the Blu set hits 50 and there is no market for them.

Got a fiesty employee today but was eventually able to bend her to my will. Scanning the phone upgrade check coupon twice and price matching Walmart's online price for Super 8 ($5.00).

Yeah, no one wants them. I'm slowly phasing mine out too, and I'll only get rid of an HD-DVD if I can get the Blu for around $5 or less. I think about the only one I'll want to hold onto is The Thing, I think everything else has an equal or better version out on Blu.

Anyway thanks guys, I'll bring in a few discs and see how I fare.

They replenished their ice age stock today, so I now have all 3. Also picked up Salmon Fishing.... for $15.

You won't be able to do it. As mentioned, your in-store pickup order is an online Bestbuy.com order. They can't make any adjustments to it. The only thing they can do in-store to an online order is to return it.

Got four blu's:

$4.99 each
Gremlins 2
Mission Impossible 4
Clash of the Titans

$14.99
Battlestar Galactica

Had them price match for Gold Rush at $19.99, but they refused to adjust the price in order to allow me to simultaneously use the coupon. So I returned it.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, $5 Off Blu-ray titles, Jul 15 - Aug 11, 2012

Stopped in yesterday, got a mobile upgrade coupon and wanted to get The Adventures of Milo & Otis, which their site said was in-stock and if I ordered for in-store pickup I could get it that day. I get there and I can't find it anywhere, even though their computer said they had 8 in-stock. After 15-20 minutes, I finally find someone to help me, and he tells me there's a box in the back but they can't sell them because they have a release date of 7/22. Even though other places have been selling it, and their website even lists a release date of 1/24. I just accepted it, although it definitely doesn't make sense. I just assume/hope it will still be 9.99 come next week and I'll pick it up then. Anyway, I ended up using the coupon on Altered States, a blind-buy.

WTF.

My wife just took in 3 discs and the coupons say they're valid 7/15-7/21.

Same thing happened to me. Got them exchanged (w/no problem) a couple of days later when I noticed.

I picked up...

The Outlaw Josey Wales $4.99
Predators $7.99
Unknown $4.99
The Color Of Money $9.99

I've been waiting on Predators for a while since I didn't want to spend $20+ on it. Then I just kept waiting so I could get it around $10. I wasn't sure about Unknown, but I like Liam Neeson, and for $4.99 I can't go wrong.
