Any idea if the non-steelbook versions of the Nolan Batman movies will also be $9.99?

Also, for those who've done it, do you just buy any cheap DVDs at the dollar store and trade those in?

Yeah, I've seen many people here who do that. If it's a retail purchased DVD with a barcode it's fair game.

So how do you get it down to $12.99? Did I miss something.

Thanks for the early pricing!

I know a lot of people know this already, but the Dollar Tree stores usually have cheap DVDs. I got a slim line DVD yesterday for .25. I am hoping that Best Buy will take these without a problem. Thanks and I look forward to all the deals starting next week.

It refers to the title above ( Get The Gringo), not the title below (The Three Stooges).

I can confirm that this deal works with both HD-DVDs and Dollar Store pan & scan titles. Also, some of the best deals are often just on the first week only, so if you see a good ( especially a $5) deal, grab it that first week. I waited on Gladiator last time and missed out.

Wish I didn't buy MI4 at release. Never thought it would go this cheap so fast.

Ok, I've followed these Upgrade and Save threads previously, but have never participated. The $4.99 deals listed above have me interested. I doubt I can get to a BB before the middle of the week. Is there wisdom in ordering the titles I want for in-store pick-up to "reserve" them so they'll be in stock? Or would that not work since technically I'd be purchasing them ahead of time for $9.99 and the store would give me a problem with applying the coupon. Thanks in advance for helping an Upgrade & Save Rookie.

How many copies of MI4 do we think each BB store will have next week, and how many people from here, SD and CAG will be headed over there to get it using the U&S offer next week? We're talking OOS fast and big time. That's assuming everyone doesn't buy them all this week and then try return/rebuys with the coupon next week.

In this case, the only way to do this is to return the bb.com order and then rebuy. It's a YMMV on if they will let you. There may be a problem too if there are no other ones in stock and the quantity must be updated into their system, which can take a couple of hours. I think you'd be safer going this week to your local BB and then PM'ing and applying the coupon next week. But if you can't you might as well try the online option.

GoHastings continues to provide me with free trade in bait. Just yesterday I received the Russell Crowe ROBIN HOOD when I ordered the Douglas Fairbanks one. Got a refund and now have a free trade in. GoHastings comes through again.

I have a ton of old dvd cases that I have saved for no particular reason. I just buy the slim lines, and recase them. No problem.

Mine had a ton of copies out out on Sunday. There were so many that I was wondering whether some big sale on them was coming up.

No need to do that, at least I never had a problem of them taking the slim cases.

There were about 25 copies at my store just this morning, and that's taking into account the possibility that not all copies were out on the floor. But I'm definitely making sure and buying this on Sunday for sure and not waiting later in the week to get just in case.

is MI4 a good blind buy?, is it the best in the franchise?, I was never a fan of the franchise and MI3 is one of those well done film but ultimately forgettable (for me). Guess I'll still scoop it up for 5 bucks though. I'm also eyeing Stand By Me, Hook, Gremlins 2 and Fort Apache (for $10).

I havent been to BB in a few weeks so was wondering if they still had some of the Steel Book exclusives for 9.99 or is it just the Batman?

Yes. I blind bought it during the last upgrade and save for $14.99 and it was well worth it.

MI4 was pretty good, though in my opinion MI3 was easily the best.

The main difference in MI4 is that one character is added for comic relief throughout the movie. If you like your action movies with more of a sense of humor then you'll dig MI4. If you prefer a more serious tone then you'll find the additional character annoying (like I did).

For $4.99 after trade-in, I would definitely say go for it!

Are you talking about the Simon Pegg character? Anyway my favorite MI film is the first one. This one is watchable and worth $5 despite its flaws.

Thanks peeps on the Mi4 recommendation. Why the heck not.. But only because I trust you guys more than my own family. Not because it's only 5 dollars.

Hopefully they still have those new WB titles there for $9.99. There is about 6 of them I want to get. Might get the MI4 as well.

I thought it was rather horrible.. too many completely unbelievable action scenes and I think that Tom Cruise has turned into a hack, which is quite sad being that he showed so much promise in movies like Born on the Fourth of July.

My kids actually hated it too and they usually like the mindless action films more than I do.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, $5 Off Blu-ray titles, Jul 15 - Aug 11, 2012

I loved MI4, did watch the first one the other week... while many people I know dismiss that, I loved it... one of DePalma's better films, and helped spawn a franchise

These sales are gonna kill my wallet... I already HAVEall three Ice Age movies on blu... but am REBUYING them... the first two for the dvd and digital copies, and the third on 3D... I get the movie cash for $5 on each on a movie I was planning on seeing anyway... and ones I trade in hopefully wil be eligible towards the trade 2 get a new release free at Moviestop (the spider mans I traded last week were)... so I should make out pretty well

I know Dog Day Afternoon and Mean Streets will mine too
