Nope, it didn't. I figured they thought more people would buy it anyway since it's the better of the 3.

Spoiler:

My Best Buy is ALWAYS marking items wrong *usually always more money* so if something is marked wrong ill just price match it somewhere else like walmart bc its alot less of a hassle for me anyway.

with that said I go into Best Buy today with 5 dvds (2 dirty sanchez, 2 matrix reloadeds and Wickerman)
stand in line at CS by myself while a woman is sitting at the counter purposely ignoring me picking the crud from under her fingernails. finally acknowledges me and proceeds to tell me I can only trade in 3 at a time so i pleasantly told her the ad said five and I was able to do 5 the other day I was in...apparently being defeated she then chimed in that I cant take part of this offer more then once and that I said I already participated once i cant again (i wasnt sure on this as i didnt have the ad, but i thought i remember per visit) I asked to see her copy of the ad (as my store never has any upfront)
she then in all her middle aged glory rolled her eyes and gave me a professional "whatevah"

she then agreed to take them and give me my damn coupons. Now im STILL being polite and pleasant...thinking hey e all have bad days right? maybe someone ran over her cat this morning or got her troll doll collection stolen! Id be grumpy too.

she then smirked bc in her mind she had finally beaten me and told me that they cannot accept wickerman bc it was an ex rental *as in an original case had a upc bar, but had a hollywood video sticker on it* and they cant accept duplicates so she can only give me two coupons.

at this point I am know annoyed and told her that I am sorry shes having a rough morning and dealing with people as rude as myself, but if she can show me where on the ad it states anything that supports her claims id accept it or else please go get someone who can read and finish this transaction so i can be on my way as all this bullshit has taken near 20 minutes now

at this point she was calling for someone to escort me out of the store. a manager comes over and I explain the situation and that I do apologize if my insult hurt her feelings, but imo was justified and surprisingly one of the pc repair guys came out and backed up my story that i was very patient with this "woman" before i had my outburst.

The manager then scanned my titles and gave me my coupons and apologized to me for any troubles then while i was walking back to the movie section he came up to me with an extra coupon he gave me for my troubles from the phone deal thats been brought up in this thread *im assuming its the same one*

so i picked out my 5 movies and for my bonus choice i was like fuck it im going to figure out why the Incredible Hulk is marked 14.99 instead of 9.99. I asked one of the clerks about it and pointed out that the picture in the ad had a green case and they only had them in blue if that made any difference if it was a different version *like the BB exclusive of mission impossible* he looked it up on the computer and said it should be fine they had the same sku numbers and theyll just adjust it at the register just show them the ad as he handed me my very on ad! *which is like the Holy Grail in this fucking store*

needless to say it rang up 15 so they had someone override it to 10..paid for it then realized i paid to much the coupon didnt take off anything on the hulk so the cashier apologized and said bc it had to be adjusted it might of not accepted the coupon and to just have them refund me my 5$ at customer Service *which i smiled and said no problem as i was screaming bloody hell inside*

Get Back over to the grumpy bitch and shes still there ignoring the world picking shit from under her fingernails...so I turned around and by the entrance is the manager from earlier, the door greeter person, and another young kid. So i called to them and asked for there assistance and the manager and kid came over and asked if they can help me and I told them that i needed a price adjustment and that this nice young lady here seems to be picking what appears to be fecal matter from under her fingernails and Id rather not have her touch my items. He refunded my 5$ quickly and i thanked him and walked out.

Now I could have came off as the biggest scumbag alive to everyone in that store, but for the fact iv bottled up all my frustration from dealing with shitty retail workers for 29 years. It felt good to finally tell one here her and her attitude can go. Felt so good in fact I ended my lunchbreak at Dunkin Donuts to get a coffee and the cashier was as pleasant as always I dropped the 5$ bill in the tip jar.

Sorry about the long rant and dont blame anyone for ignoring it, but i needed to vent as Iv never had a problem at best buy in the past. looks like for any future upgrade and save deals ill drive the extra 15 minutes to the other best buy.

I have rental copies of Lois & Clark Season 2 with 6 different bar codes. Would I be able to trade in 5 of those 6 DVDs for 5 coupons? I have 5 complete sets given to me to get rid of... lol

I have the same ones, and also plan to double-dip. With the $5 moviecash, they're basically free, as long as you have worthless DVD's to trade in...

Thanks for taking the time. And there's not ONE word in there that I don't believe. I have had agonizing waits at the BB pick up points or 'Customer Disservice' counters. But again, this was a 'pleasant' thing to read instead of all the deals that people were packing from BB :-)....Now back to $4.99 titles.

a word of advice. Grab a title that's $9.99 if you have been wanting it, RIGHT NOW. Cos too often prices fluctuate and the next week after your wife told you that you could buy it, she could kick your ass for spending $5 more on it than the previous week since the prices went up. It happened with Conan last time - not that the wife had anything to do with it, I just passed on it first time and when I finally went to pick it up, the girl at the register told me it rang up $14.99. If you have Buyer's remorse, you can always return it. But BB will never have Seller's remorse for you picking it up a week later for a higher price.

Probably getting a manager at Best Buy to price match Barnes and Noble, then manually apply the $5 U&S coupon. It's worked for a few of us, but very YMMV.

Sorry I made that post in a hurry and forgot to elaborate. That's exactly what happened, an override. The cashier told me I could use the coupon for it so I went and traded in four DVDs. At checkout he called for help cuz it wouldn't work on the Criterion price match. I told him the truth which is that I wouldn't have traded in the extra DVD if I hadn't been told the coupon would work. I asked for the DVD back and they told me that was impossible. So they called the manager and he did the override. So yes YMMV. I am now done with this sale which is why I didn't want an extra coupon I wouldn't use.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, $5 Off Blu-ray titles, Jul 15 - Aug 11, 2012

I had a Disney-esque/Twilight Zone experience at my local Beast Buy. The employees were all preternaturally friendly and enthusiastic about the sale and helping me find titles. One guy went back to the "media room" to snag me the last copy of Blade II. One female cast member came up to me and offered the 5.00 coupon for checking to see If I was eligible for a phone upgrade. A few clicks on her iPad and presto I'm in the money. She came back about ten minutes later and handed me and my friend another coupon just because we had been in there for awhile buying alot of Blurays!

Anywho here is my haul (so far). All were 5.00 after trade in except for Super 8...

Mean Streets
Gremlins 2
Mission:Impossible Ghost Protocol
Altered States
From Dusk Till Dawn - 4 movie pack
Blade II
Super 8 (7.99)

Will be going back for Batman steelies with movie money, Dog Day Afternoon, other Blade movies, and who knows what else!! Too bad they aren't carrying Singin In The Rain at my store.

As always, the obligatory link to my Haul Video is below for those who want to watch. ;-) I give a shout to DVDtalk (as I do in many of my vids lol) and put a link to the site in the description area. I love this place!!

I thought that the Ransom with Mel Gibson was $15 and the Ransom with Sean Connery was $10. You were able to get the Mel Gibson one for $5?

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, $5 Off Blu-ray titles, Jul 15 - Aug 11, 2012

Found 4 25 cent DVD's at the 4th Dollar Tree i hit on Wednesday morning. They were all slim cases.

Made 3 purchases:

Mean Streets $5
Dog Day Afternoon $5
Smokey And The Bandit $5 (after $3 Universal coupon)

Did the phone updgrade check, the woman at the CS counter asked me if I wanted to do it when I was trading in the DVD's.

Tried to use it on my purchase but was denied. I was told that it was THE SAME COUPON as the Upgrade & Save coupon, so I could not use 2 of them on the same Blu-Ray. I pointed out the different barcode #'s on the coupons to no avail. Not a big deal, just have to use the phone coupon by Sunday I guess. It expires 07/21.

LOL, that's awesome! The scary part is, I have another 50-60 titles to add to the list still. Plus around 20 titles were rejected during the import, but I likely won't take the time to figure out which ones were rejected... It's hard to keep a collection up-to-date, since you're constantly adding to it (as I'm sure we're all aware)...
I actually just re-sorted my shelves, so everything is in alphabetical order. That was the best project I ever did, since I can now FIND a title when I want to watch something specific. Oh, and having them in an app on my Android is a godsend, since I can tell if I own something already, instead of accidentally buying duplicates.

It requires registering a Visa card, but you do NOT have to pay with the Visa to use the $5 coupon. This is the easier route IMO, instead of attempting to fight for an override at BB...

If anyone was still having troubles getting Blade, my store stocked them in sometime between today and Tuesday. I went Sunday and Monday, and they had no Blade. Today they did.

My haul was..

127 Hours
Blade
Blade 2
Despicable Me
Harold & Kumar go to White Castle

All were 4.99 except for Despicable Me, which was 7.99.

I didn't see this posted yet, but BestBuy.com has a $10 coupon code good if you order $50 worth of movies and select "In-Store Pick Up". The code isn't good for the items you just ordered, but it can be used on any future order. Plus, when you pick up your movies in-store, you can use the $5 trade in at the same time. Double-whammy!
