Considering they're $10 and you get $10 movie cash for the new movie, it's not a horrible buy.

For collectors of cover art Walmart appears to have exclusive art on the two previous movies.

Agreed, hoping for some serious extras on it, like all the cut footage from TDK.

Final Destination 5
The Final Destination
The Butterfly Effect
Ice Age
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
The Dark Knight
Batman Begins
Transporter 3

The only way I know is to have BB employees look up each item in their inventory system. There is a place that specifies when the promotion/sales end for each item. Or if there is a tag in front of the item, it will specify the ending date for the sale.

I'm not a superfan of the movie like most here, but I never had bought it before. $5 seemed like my price point for it.

I wouldn't be interested in a Dark Knight box set. At least that's why I bit now.

Made a second run today and picked up:
Frequency - $4.99
Babe - $4.99
World's Greatest Dad - $4.99
Army of Darkness - $4.99
The Adventures of Tintin - $11.99

Tintin still had the expired $3 instant mfg coupon on the packaging and the clerk applied it without me asking, which was a pleasant surprise.

Regarding the Dollar Tree 25 cent DVDs, I had no idea there were 25 cent ones mixed in with the $1 ones... I must've missed those posts as I skim rather than read everything in detail. Perhaps many of the slim case ones which make up 98% of their inventory are 25 cents. I just know I once asked how much DVDs were and was told they were all $1, so I figured people were finding specially marked 25 cent displays somewhere which I never could. Complaint coming: as Dollar Tree usually only has 1 register open typically with 3-5 people in line with stacks of stuff, it's not convenient to check prices at the register unless I want to wait 5-10 minutes. I only enter the line if I find something I know I want for $1.

I'm not sure if this is the best place to mention it (I don't recall reading about it before)...

I read somewhere else that if you go to Paramount's digital copy site (www.paramountdigitalcopy.com), there is an option to select Amazon and enter your code there which will give you a certain amount of Instant Video credit (for instance $15 for MI:GP) which you can then use on any Amazon Instant Video. Has anyone else heard this and is it true?

If it is true, that's a great deal and I'd like to know more details... in particular if you redeem your digital copies for Amazon Instant Video credit, when does that credit expire and how many codes can you enter at once?

Do they accept multiple duplicate copies of the same titles? I was able to scrounge up 10 kiddie titles for a quarter each, but only two different titles.

I did the mobile eligibility check today, which was surprisingly easy. I just went to the mobile dept, asked about doing the eligibility check to get a Blu-ray coupon, he asked me for my number, carrier and zip, he told me the eligibility status and handed me a coupon. I was sure it was going to be a bigger hassle of him trying to sell me something. Anyway, I picked up Stripes for 4.99.

Stopped by Best Buy yesterday to look through the blu-ray section and was actually approached by an employee who was walking through the store trying to get people to do the mobile eligibility check. She did it right from the tablet she was carrying, so I didn't even have to leave the department. 20 seconds later, I had a coupon. I completely forgot about the deal, so kudos to my local Best Buy. Ended up buying Altered States, Babe, Batman Begins Steelbook, and Kate and Leopold, all $4.99 each. They were out of Stand By Me, only one I need to go back for.

I went back and they had some at my Dollar Tree, marked at $1 each. I figured a $4 savings on a blu was still good, so I bought some. Two of them rang up at 1 cent each (they weren't marked that way, though).

Found the last steelbook copy of Safe House today, so I picked that up for $14.99 after coupon. Kinda sucks it's the DVD sized case though. At lease my copy of Fast Five won't look so out of place now :)

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, $5 Off Blu-ray titles, Jul 15 - Aug 11, 2012

so I went in today and finally had a trip from hell at my local best buy. I have worked retail in the past and I understand how much the job can suck so I NEVER get on a cashiers/CS ass ever. My Best Buy is ALWAYS marking items wrong *usually always more money* so if something is marked wrong ill just price match it somewhere else like walmart bc its alot less of a hassle for me anyway.

with that said I go into Best Buy today with 5 dvds (2 dirty sanchez, 2 matrix reloadeds and Wickerman)
stand in line at CS by myself while a woman is sitting at the counter purposely ignoring me picking the crud from under her fingernails. finally acknowledges me and proceeds to tell me I can only trade in 3 at a time so i pleasantly told her the ad said five and I was able to do 5 the other day I was in...apparently being defeated she then chimed in that I cant take part of this offer more then once and that I said I already participated once i cant again (i wasnt sure on this as i didnt have the ad, but i thought i remember per visit) I asked to see her copy of the ad (as my store never has any upfront)
she then in all her middle aged glory rolled her eyes and gave me a professional "whatevah"

she then agreed to take them and give me my damn coupons. Now im STILL being polite and pleasant...thinking hey e all have bad days right? maybe someone ran over her cat this morning or got her troll doll collection stolen! Id be grumpy too.

she then smirked bc in her mind she had finally beaten me and told me that they cannot accept wickerman bc it was an ex rental *as in an original case had a upc bar, but had a hollywood video sticker on it* and they cant accept duplicates so she can only give me two coupons.

at this point I am know annoyed and told her that I am sorry shes having a rough morning and dealing with people as rude as myself, but if she can show me where on the ad it states anything that supports her claims id accept it or else please go get someone who can read and finish this transaction so i can be on my way as all this bullshit has taken near 20 minutes now

at this point she was calling for someone to escort me out of the store. a manager comes over and I explain the situation and that I do apologize if my insult hurt her feelings, but imo was justified and surprisingly one of the pc repair guys came out and backed up my story that i was very patient with this "woman" before i had my outburst.

The manager then scanned my titles and gave me my coupons and apologized to me for any troubles then while i was walking back to the movie section he came up to me with an extra coupon he gave me for my troubles from the phone deal thats been brought up in this thread *im assuming its the same one*

so i picked out my 5 movies and for my bonus choice i was like fuck it im going to figure out why the Incredible Hulk is marked 14.99 instead of 9.99. I asked one of the clerks about it and pointed out that the picture in the ad had a green case and they only had them in blue if that made any difference if it was a different version *like the BB exclusive of mission impossible* he looked it up on the computer and said it should be fine they had the same sku numbers and theyll just adjust it at the register just show them the ad as he handed me my very on ad! *which is like the Holy Grail in this fucking store*

needless to say it rang up 15 so they had someone override it to 10..paid for it then realized i paid to much the coupon didnt take off anything on the hulk so the cashier apologized and said bc it had to be adjusted it might of not accepted the coupon and to just have them refund me my 5$ at customer Service *which i smiled and said no problem as i was screaming bloody hell inside*

Get Back over to the grumpy bitch and shes still there ignoring the world picking shit from under her fingernails...so I turned around and by the entrance is the manager from earlier, the door greeter person, and another young kid. So i called to them and asked for there assistance and the manager and kid came over and asked if they can help me and I told them that i needed a price adjustment and that this nice young lady here seems to be picking what appears to be fecal matter from under her fingernails and Id rather not have her touch my items. He refunded my 5$ quickly and i thanked him and walked out.

Now I could have came off as the biggest scumbag alive to everyone in that store, but for the fact iv bottled up all my frustration from dealing with shitty retail workers for 29 years. It felt good to finally tell one here her and her attitude can go. Felt so good in fact I ended my lunchbreak at Dunkin Donuts to get a coffee and the cashier was as pleasant as always I dropped the 5$ bill in the tip jar.

Sorry about the long rant and dont blame anyone for ignoring it, but i needed to vent as Iv never had a problem at best buy in the past. looks like for any future upgrade and save deals ill drive the extra 15 minutes to the other best buy.

Wow. A BB rant not by me? Who would've thought it could happen. It just shows that I'm not the only one who has problems at BB, though for some strange reason I've been having good luck for the last several months. Part of that may be the last 3 times I got the same cashier who is a cool guy and has no problems taking coupons.

Haha for Manzana that's business as usual  but seriously that's awesome! I can hear the rock music playing at the end of the story alas "Breakfast Club" as you exit the store you lift your fist up Bender mode "Don't You Forget about me..

I have an old Rocky DVD box set with all 5 movies in their own cases. I might toss the slip cover and use that to get 5 coupons sometime this week. I already upgraded my Rocky movies to BD a few months ago, so they have no use for me.

I don't hang around and post too often in the Bargains forum, but Manzana, aren't you ever going to take a break from surfing for bargains daily and constantly calling stores and buying stuff on a weekly basis? I assume you have thousands of unwatched and unopened DVDs and BD's? Aren't you going to make the time to watch the stuff you bought? ;)

DVD Talk usually only takes me 5 minutes to read each day since I only read the latest posts in certain threads. It takes me longer when I post which is often if I have something to say. Yes, I do have loads of unwatched movies (though I think kenbenobi and Trevor have a lot more), but I'm not "constantly" calling stores and buying stuff. It's more like each week I check the ads and may find a handful of cheap things to buy. I only call the store if I need to. This week I bought more than usual precisely because the U&S program started at BB. For the last several months I have bought 5-10 BDs per month. Maybe that's more than average but not that high IMHO, especially when I'm paying $5-$10 per BD (usually in the $5-$7 range).

* The Original 50 Shades of Gray (starring Kim Basinger)
* Al Can't Sleep
* George & Quentin's Mexican Bar Adventure 4-pack

Question on trade in...

I have "Battlestar Galactica Season One" DVD set still unopened. Can I trade in the 5 discs individually? Do they each have UPC symbols on them? I don't think anyone's actually checked for UPC on the back of any discs I've trade it. Has anyone tried trading in sets in this fashion?

If each disc has it's own case and art you could probably do it.

I can't, for the life of me, find a BB that has Blade II in stock, nor Army of Darkness. Those of you who have found them are LUCKY!
