I might try this tomorrow if they don't override the coupon. How come it gave you the discount on the lower priced one? Isn't it automatically supposed to go on the higher priced item? I'll try it with a lower priced item maybe and then return it but keep the Criterion. Did you return on the spot?
The sting is also $39.99 for the digibooks edition.
I walked away and looked at the receipt then walked back and told her my wife
Was over riding the purchase and i needed to return it.

Yeah, that's why the discount should have applied on the Sting - because it's the higher priced item. Weird.

They are the same price. I think it was just random luck the purchase turned out the way it did . She rang up the Sting first .

There are only three OOP blu-rays (The Man Who Fell to Earth, Pierrot Le Fou, The Third Man) and I'll doubt any are still available at a Barnes and Noble.

I found a copy of Third Man at a Barnes and Noble 3 months ago. Decent condition cardstock cover edition.

I've seen the plastic case 400 Blows and Chungking Express at my local B&N. I didn't think it was rare.

For what it's worth here is the receipt with the breakdown.

Got the three I bought during the short Buy two get one window in the mail today-Shallow Grave, Repulsion, and Kuroneko. I was really tempted to get more, but I'm trying to watch my spending right now.

Yes, I can also confirm there seems to be no problem with the regular member coupons working with the sale ($5 off $50 and $8 off $40). I also got David Lean box with the $8 off $40; it was accepted with no problem.

The "mystery" ones do seem to have been an issue for some.

Went in and tried to use mystery coupon for Being John Malkovich, was denied. Mystery solved, that coupon sucks for this sale. But the cashier did take the $8 off coupon! Got it for $10.69. My best deal there ever. It really is all about having a repor with the cashier.

As already discussed, the coupons are now disabled for Criterions. But of course the cashier did not know that. He said he's been having this problem all day, and got approval from his manager to give 30% off every time a coupon did not work. I quickly snagged a 3rd title. I got 3 titles for $12.59 each after member discount. I also used a B&N MC to save another 5%, which is pretty much a wash with tax for me... $12.63 each after tax and all discounts...
I "think" the coupons were not actually used, thus I can still use them again later. I'll have to try them out...
Same thing happened at my store. I've been in three separate times since the coupon went active. The first time they were able to determine that the coupon was good for 20%, but it wouldn't work, so the manager did an override, and I got the 20%. Second time the cashier said that the coupon wasn't working so she was just giving 30% off to everyone who had the coupon. The third time, the cashier contacted a manager, who informed her that the coupon was not good on Criterions, so it looks like they finally figured out the policy. I can't complain, I was able to get a handful of Criterions with the coupon, so it worked out in the end. Very YMMV, but it never hurts to try it out at your local store.

Anyone else get a call from their credit card company? Mine thought those four orders of the same total on Tuesday were suspicious!!

Damn if B&N doesn't suck when shipping their orders. The first thing is that I was unable to place these B2G1F orders with our membership because my wife has the membership number and was asleep. I was trying to hurry to get these in before they cut off the deal so I opted for the free shipping and placed 3 different orders for a total of 9 movies. I received 2 of the 3 free movies yesterday in their own packaging. Their tracking showed maybe 1 or 2 steps and then my door. One of my orders was shipped with all 3 movies together and it went via DHL from Kentucky and then tendered to the USPS in Texas. WTF? My other two orders that were split up into the free one being sent alone and the other two sent together arrived in Georgia on the 12th and haven't seemed to have moved since then. So as of right now I'm still waiting on 7 of 9 movies.

Can't get any of these to work. Did they cut off coupon use for this sale?

It took a while but finally received the last of my online orders today. Got two orders Friday and two more Saturday before the last 6 titles showed up today. Think I'm already finished up with this Criterion sale and will wait until the November for the next one.

Got the last 4 of the 9 that I ordered during the the B2G1Free portion of the sale. Now I need to wait and see if there are any other coupons I can use to maybe grab 1 or 2 more.
