Still no set for me. I'm in CT, and the location was updated to NJ yesterday. How are people on the other side of the country already getting it? I guess amazon uk's shipping is just as inconsistent as American amazon's.

Are these at least packaged safely, or are they arriving all dinged and dented?

Well, I ordered on September 15th and it's still not here. Tracking still shows it in New Jersey for the past two days. That's about 2.5 hours from where I live...

Nothing for me yet in MA. Estimated date was 10/8 and no tracking available.

In CT and mine came yesterday. Preordered the regular set and everything is packaged fine, per usual from Amazon UK.

Anyways, watched Dracula last night, and it looked AMAZING!

Was yours shipped DHL? If not, who delivered it? Did I just get unlucky with the carrier they chose for mine? I wonder how they pick if you're in CT too. My delivery estimate isn't until the 18th and it was shipped on the 1st.

DHL is much more erratic in delivering packages from Amazon.co.uk than Royal Mail. My order from Royal Mail has already been delivered. It did arrive a bit crushed, but that looks the fault of the flimsy packaging Amazon used on it.

I hate it when tracking information is included but never seems to get updated. My package has apparently been sitting since its arrival in New Jersey on Oct. 8. Ugh. Get here already! I want to watch some Universal monsters!

Yeah, I imagine that has a lot to do with it.

I was going to wait for the 'complete' set but that was before I knew the Creature From the Black Lagoon was in 3D. Can anyone comment as to the quality of this one?

Now mine arrived but the corners of the coffin are dented because they stuffed it into a box that was too small for it. Typical amazon experience with an international twist! Did this happen to anyone else? The sides of the coffin were bulging out the sides of the box.

Don't think mine was DHL. I've seen the USPS deliver packages from Amazon UK before. Might depend on the area of the state you live in? I never see DHL around here.

My coffin arrived in perfect shape, in a Royal Mail box that was perfectly sized for it. No complaints.

Mine was via USPS, and it came in an oversized box stuffed with brown paper. It was in perfect shape.

What is this 'complete' set to which you refer?

Sorry in advance for my ignorance if this is common knowledge . . .

That's good to hear. I requested a replacement, so hopefully they'll put it in a more appropriate box. I knew I was in trouble when I could see the corner of the coffin bulding through the flat side of the shipping box!

After some severe hemming and hawing on this, I finally ordered it...I almost feel bad for people who buy the US set and pay double.

Damn this is a great set. Just got my set today, and already went through all of Dracula and the first half hour of the 3D Creature from the Black Lagoon.

One that comes with all of the classic Universal Monster movies (or at least most of them). Something similar to this:

http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Legacy...ersal+monsters

Nothing has been announced and it may never be but I am sick of double dipping!

Would be nice for completeness, but with hundreds of DVDs & Blu-Rays in my collection, I find I just don't care about completeness anymore (in the era of Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube). The Universal Monsters set has the best of the Universal horrors (as far as I'm concerned), and so I doubt I'll ever upgrade from this.

I'd upgrade in a second. I was disappointed this set wasn't coming with all the films from before.

Re: Universal Monsters £34.32 from Amazon.co.uk Shipped to US

Posted this in the HD Forum, but for those who got this UK set - people on the blu-ray.com forum have said there are some defective discs in the UK set. So far they look to be the Mummy and Creature from the Black Lagoon discs. Based on the pics posted, the defects look to be in the pressing itself. I checked mine and don't see these problems, so it doesn't look to be widespread. But if you picked this up, it may be good to check your discs for this.
