That was definitely true for the first batch of $5 BDs that showed up last year. Only 2 locations out of 32 in one East coast metro area ever got them in. I think it is some sort of viral sales gimmick. Generate positive word-of-mouth on the Internet such as this thread and get shoppers excited to visit Target, even though few locations will carry them.

Bumping this to say that new stock of $5 Blus were at my local Target. I picked up HANG EM HIGH and RISING SUN. There were more, but I was in a rush and couldn't jot down titles.

I thought I read somewhere that the versions with the red bubble advertising the alternate ending is the corrected version;

If you want these movies in the best presentation with no problems and all the extra features, skip the $5 Mill Creek BD and get the original Sony releases for each movie. Anyone telling you differently is either a Mill Creek shill or doesn't know what they are talking about.

My Week with Marilyn Combo pack is the one I was most happy to see.
Also Black Sheep, Tommy Boy, Varsity Blues, The Ring, My Idiot Brother.
And some Bruce Willis flick called Catch .44

Picked up My Week with Marilyn yesterday as an instore pickup. I tried to find it the day before on the displays, but couldn't. Great deal for a really smart little flick. Michelle Williams is amazing.

I was just at Target and noticed they had some new stuff in their $5 (well, $4.75 this week) section. NO Marilyn. I just did a store pickup order for it.

Target would be a lot better off if they rotated their $5 selections more frequently. Even Walmart rotates their selection more than Target and has a bigger supply to begin with.
