Psycho $5
Saturday Night Fever $5
Zombieland $10

Used some Dollar Tree $1 DVD's for the coupons. Gotta look out for those 25 or 50 cent DVD's when I hit DT again this week. Still would like to get Ferris Beuller for $5 and Planes, Trains And Automobiles for $10.

Today I picked up:

Gods and Generals $4.99

Gettysburg $9.99

I have 7 coupons left. Hope to use it on some of the newer stuff coming out this week and next before this promotion is over. I have no more DVDs I want to part with, so I'm good.

Is that Gettysburg the DigiBook? I would love that but I thought it was more than $14.99.

Nope. It's the single disc edition. Same with Gods and Generals.

The reason I picked both of those up was because they are the extended director's cuts. I own both of them on DVD already (original cut) with the bonus features, so I didn't need the digibook. Plus, the bonus material on the Digibooks are DVDs ( and it's the exact same material on the DVDs I own), not BDs.

Hasn't been mentioned but there is a $5 off coupon for The Descendants on coupons.com. If you combine it with the $5 upgrade and save coupon the total comes out to $10.

Also, there is also a When Harry Met Sally $3 off coupon on coupons.com as well.

Pretty much the same here. At least this time there's a far bigger list of sale priced titles to choose from. The biggest issue I had last time was trying to find the titles I was looking for in-store. Seemed like their selection was pretty thin during most of the last promotion. Before it was done, I was able to find most of what I was looking for. Just had to make many trips in to do it.

Also like you, I still haven't even watched half the titles from the last batch I got - but, I'm in again this time, too.

The online prices seem to match in-store pricing on the $9.99 titles, at least the ones I've bought so far. "The Enforcer"/"Sudden Impact" double feature is $9.99 online but in-store it had a $14.99 shelf tag and price tag. I asked them to scan it for me and it rang up $9.99. With the $5 trade-in coupon that's $2.50 per movie. "Sudden Impact" is worth at least $3.75.

Added 12 so far this week. Going back tomorrow for "Braveheart" and "Forrest Gump." Love this promotion.

Has anyone done any price matching on an item they used an U&S coupon on? I bought Final Destination 2 and 3 and Space Jam last week for 10.99, now this week they are 9.99. Will I have an issue getting my $3 back?

Picked up Miracle for $4.99. That's all for this week.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, $5 Off Blu-ray titles, Apr 22 - May 12, 2012

I tried last week to trade in my dvds but I didn't have the anything except the disc and the plastic case. Not one store I visited would take just the disc. So I went to Dollar Tree and bought a bunch of dvds. I went back to Best Buy with these dvds and the $25 in Reward Zone coupons I had and was able to get the following (after all discounts were applied):

Caddyshack $1.87
An American Werewolf In London $1.87
Stripes (BB exclusive) $3.74
Blues Brothers $3.74
Airplane 100th anniversary edition $3.73

Total out of pocket with tax was $16 and change. Now here's an add on. I grabbed the wrong version of Airplane. The ad version on sale for $9.99 is in a red anniversary box with a Paramount gold sticker. The one I picked up was the $20 movie in a hologram box. The cashier went and grabbed the sale product for me. When I got home to my surprise the cashier put both versions in my shopping bag. I compared both discs and they is no difference between them list on the packaging. Absolutely none at all except for the sticker barcode. So I have an extra version of the same movie. But I'm too honest to keep it, so I'm going to return it in a few days when I go back to pick up some more trades.

I made the same mistake with Planes, Trains and Automobiles. I already opened it up though so I'm out the $5. Oh well.

I can appreciate your honesty but when I deal with the customer service people at Best Buy, I always have a problem. With my luck they'd accuse me of stealing it or something.

I love this deal! I would be all over it if I had the SD versions, but I don't. I don't care about the book though so I'll check around and see what the SD copies are going for and then add in this Best Buy deal for the bare bone Blus and see if it comes out cheaper than the Digibooks. Thanks for posting that the bonus discs are SD and congrats on a great deal.

I found a decent deal today. The Asylum has put out a nazi zombie movie called Nazis at the Center of the Earth that is supposed to be decent enough, it's at Best Buy for $9.99, so $5 with coupon. Amazon has it for like $23. I didn't pick it up because Asylum movies blow, but I've seen a couple of really positive reviews so I might head back to pick it up.

I have to say, some Asylum movies are worth it and are a gem in the horror/whatever genre. Good catch on that one.

No. The only reason I know for sure is that I saw tons and tons of copies of Source Code marked down to $10.99 at all the Best Buys I went to but I passed because it was a flipper.

They didn't even check my DVDs when I brought them in. They just slapped some recycling stickers on the case and threw them in a box.

A friend of mine rented this from Redbox, and said he wished he had his $1.61 back.

Wrong. Although your logic was amusing. I had to go to 3 different stores before I found the flipper. The first 2 stores only had the Blu-ray only version (which was much more expensive).

Same here!

At the local BB I went to, it took maybe all of a minute for the CS Rep to give me the coupon. Didn't even check the discs.

I have to remember to go back to snag The Adventures of Tin Tin.

I was once turned down trading in a GOT Sampler blu at BB, although another time it was accepted... all depends on the person... some of mine have actually pulled the discs out and inspected them, some just make sure a disc is inside

Same can be said about the cashiers, I found one guy there that has given me back my coupons both times he has rung me up...

I got a non-flipper of this at Best Buy last week. It had a slipcover, but not lenticular.
