Got the delay notice too. I'm fine with it, since I have a rather large backlog.

I checked on their web sire and you can order it again at the $17.99 price, which is nice.

I bet my Game Of Thrones Keychain will have more value than this set eventually.

It's down to $16.99, making it $18.98 shipped (do they charge tax?), but they don't take AmEx. I've reported it the price to Amazon, not that they'll match it.

FV likely just didn't order enough. No one has received a copy from them yet other retailers have been stocking it since Tuesday.

I got mine yesterday so that is incorrect that no one has received them yet.

Re: Battle Royale Complete Collection $17.99 shipped at FamilyVideo.com

I got a shipping notice this morning on my backorder. Of course our local arthouse is showing the first film as midnight movie in a couple of weeks, so I'll probably hit that up as well.

Re: Battle Royale Complete Collection $17.99 shipped at FamilyVideo.com

Just a heads up for you guys. I ordered fairly early I guess, obviously before posting it here, but mine was backordered too. I just received it today, and it's not the book-style packaging I've been seeing. It's in a keep case. See here (scroll down).

I'm not sure I'm even upset about it. It takes up less space and the discs are not annoyingly slid out of sleeves. So I've not decided yet whether I care about having what is essentially first printing packaging. Anyway, I thought you all should know what to expect.

Considering we might see a 4-disc set with the Revenge Cut of BRII included from AB, I wouldn't be too worried, either. Interesting the specifications never mentioned this by AB or FYE on their websites. The non-book version should sell for much less by the end of this year, then (or even a few months, depending how many flood the market).

Hmmm... wonder which version I'll get in that case. I only ordered it because I thought the book looked cool, and I'm a huge fan of the film.

Response from FamilyVideo.com

Hi all,

Official Family Video representative here. We understand that there might be some concern about the packaging on Battle Royale. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

As you may know, due to the overwhelming popularity of "Battle Royale: The Complete Collection Blu-ray/DVD" at such a great deal, our first shipment sold-out rapidly. We immediately ordered a second shipment, and production began immediately. We did not get notification that this second shipment would not have the same packaging as the first, despite having the exact same UPC code. Rest assured the discs are exactly the same, with all films and special featurettes intact.

However, if you are unsatisfied in any way, please contact us with your Order # either through email at [email protected] or by phone at 1-888-332-6843. If needed, we would be more than willing to send you a self-addressed stamped envelope to return the product. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thank you,
Your friends at FamilyVideo.com

I order right away and had to wait 2 weeks to get an Amray.

Someone else orders the day after me, gets it on release date, and gets the item described.

Amazon doesn't do this. They ship on a first come, first serve basis. FV just randomly decided to make me wait. They could have told me (and everyone else) it would be the Amray version before it shipped.

Never again from FamilyVideo. Never.

I wish the manufacturers would give a heads-up when new packaging like this happens. This is really careless. Giz, I'd contact AB and see what the hell happened. I'd be interested to hear if they didn't inform Family Video or their distributors about this.

I'm fine with the non-book case, I just wanted the movies. That said mine is cracked, can you purchase empty blu-ray cases with the hooks in the middle to hold multiple disks without ordering them by the gross or anything?

There are many places, such as http://www.meritline.com for example. You might do a search overall on this website to get more websites, but the website mentioned has Blu-ray cases which house multiple Blu-ray discs. About $5 a piece, I think.

Grrrr! Oh well, I used to work at a used media place, I might hit up my buddy over there and see if he has any spares lying around.

Thanks for the info though!
