I picked it up today (along with Robin Hood-Men In Tights and A Fish Called Wanda from the $4.99 section). I'm not sure about the first release. This is a 3 Disc version (Disc 1 is BD, Disc 2 is DVD and Disc 3 is DVD with special features) and it also comes with some collector's cards. Haven't opened it yet so I can't tell you what the cards are yet.


Edit: Just opened it. The cards are character pictures with facts about the actors who portrayed them.

I received The Omen Collection today....OMG, The Omen packaging REALLY IS HORRIBLE. Floaters everywhere. Luckily it doesn't look like any discs are scratched.

I think I'll be buying a multi-disc blu-ray case for it and using inside the outer case.

Thanks to the $5 coupon for The Die Hard 25th Anniversary Collection at coupons.com, I bought it for $14.99 and got the 5th one for $9.99. #5 comes with movie cash for X-Men: DOFP, so in my mind, I paid $1.99 for it.

I picked up Clueless, A Fish Called Wanda, and WarGames for $4.99 each. I paid $9.99 for the DVDs of each. I love it when I pay less for higher quality audio and video.

The 4 BD discs come in what I can only describe as 100% eco friendly packaging, 100% flimsy, thin cardboard (no plastic case of any kind) with four little sponge-like hubs affixed to the cardboard to hold the discs in place. Naturally, all 4 were floaters, but no damage to the discs.

Best Buy just tossed it into a non-bubble plastic bag mailer and slapped on the shipping label. (The double cheeseburger I got through the drive-thru yesterday had better packaging!)

Lawless, Django and Killing Them Softly all in Steelbook packaging are 11.99 and there is a coupon on coupons.com for $3 off. Will need multiple coupons if you want multiple Blu.

Django steelbook is $8 in Target before mfr coupon - but good luck finding one.

At my local Target they had not only a few copies of the Blu-only Steelbook for $8, but amazingly had a couple of the original (much prettier) Combo Pack Steelbook with bonus Target disc inclosed for $13!

Went to Best Buy today planning on upgrading Romancing The Stone and Jewel Of The Nile with the 2 pack. I had a $5 Birthday certificate so for $3 it would be worth the upgrade. Not only was there no similar display, there were several almost bare shelves again. Looks like they are yet again going to cut down on the real estate devoted to media.

I couldn't find anything I wanted except for the Warehouse 13 final season. Overpriced for 6 episodes. But for the $5 cert and a $15 GC I got for my birthday from work, I picked it up anyway. I'm sure it will be $5 in a month.

For fans of 21st-century Doctor Who, series 5 and 6, as well as series 1 and 2 of spin-off series Torchwood, are all $19.99 each.

Series 7 is $29.99.

I picked up King of Comedy , The French Connection (it's the reissue in case anyone wanted to know), and All About Eve.

I picked up the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers for $11.99, which I was originally there for since it's the lowest I've seen the Blu Ray go. No slipcover though.

Does Best Buy no longer carry Criterions in-store? I saw they had A Hard Day's Night on sale this week, but there wasn't a single copy to be found.

Seems like every time I go into a Best Buy, the selection gets smaller and smaller. I think the disc sales will move to online business eventually. After all, you really don't need to see a disc to know what you are getting, so that would free up some store space for something else.
